Bible Reading: Psalm 95: 1-6
Memory Verse: I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. Psalm 9:1 (NIV)
I briefly watched a couple of scenes from the aftermath of the bullion van robbery that occurred in one of the states of the federation in broad day light. There was this particular woman on the driver’s seat who was in extreme shock because she was closest to the spot of the armed robbery attack. Infact, someone had to hit her chest to reassure her that she was still breathing contrary to her expectations.
Obviously, her spirit had momentarily jumped out of her body due to the sudden shock. It is such a woman that will call her friends and family for a thanksgiving ceremony in her church as she dance heartily to the Lord. Brethren, be grateful. Going forward, I know of a particular family that calls for a special thanksgiving service anytime one of the children graduate. When I was younger, I kept wondering why this bogus celebration after every graduation. Now I know better.
Perhaps in that family sometimes ago, no one ever went beyond secondary school education. Hence, a need to be grateful to God who broke the academic limitation that once held all the members of the family hitherto in collective captivity as a token of gratitude and subsequently, more family academic feat. Beloved, many waters have passed through the bridge, but God has been faithful. Won’t you be grateful for health, for life, your children, for sound mind, your job, etc? You may not have everything your heart desires, yet you must thank God for what He’s done already.
Sister Olufunke Dina of Rubies Sprout wrote, “Gratitude is extremely important . Do not joke with the power of gratitude in your life. Gratitude is a door opener. Gratitude gives you perspective. Gratitude helps you to see what you have that you never really paid attention to. Gratitude helps you channel your focus. It transforms and fine-tunes your perspective. Whatever you focus on actually becomes amplified in your life.” Be grateful.
Quote: Until you are grateful to God for what you have, you may never have more than you want.
Prophetic Decree: Every enemy of your thanksgiving shall be consistently defeated, in Jesus name.
