Bible Reading: Proverbs 4:23, Deuteronomy 6: 6–7

Memory VerseAbove all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from itProverbs 4:23

There’s something deeply unsettling about a conversation between a father and his little child which surfaced on the Internet. A child boldly said, “I’m a witch… I killed Jesus.” This isn’t just “kids being kids.” It’s a reflection of what has been planted in her mind.

Children don’t create beliefs out of thin air, they absorb them. What they watch, hear, and repeat eventually becomes what they believe.

And here’s the danger: If a child is introduced to supernatural ideas without the truth of Christ, confusion is inevitable.

That child in the story had confidence, but in the wrong thing. She spoke boldly about darkness but had no understanding of the power of Jesus. That’s not just entertainment anymore, that’s formation.

As parents, guardians, or mentors, God has given us a responsibility: Not just to protect children physically, but to guard what enters their hearts and minds.

Deuteronomy 6:7 reminds us to diligently teach our children about God; not occasionally, not randomly, but intentionally.

It’s not enough to say, “Don’t watch that.” We must tell them why they shouldn’t, and we must replace it with truth of the Word of God. We need to teach them who Jesus is, show them His power and love, and fill their world with godly stories and examples. Because if we don’t disciple them, something else will – the media, their friends, neighbours or even your own house help.

And in today’s world, “something else” is always competing for their attention. Be intentional. Be watchful. Be prayerful.

What your child consistently watches today will surely be what they boldly believe tomorrow.

Christian cartoons from different genre that will impact your children include: VeggieTales/The VeggieTales Show, Superbook, Owlegories, The Torchlighters, 3-2-1 Penguins, Bibleman, The Beginner’s Bible, Lukas Storyteller, Sea Kids, Hermie & Friends, Davey & Goliath, and Ryan Defrates.

Quote:  Be warned. There are many cartoons initiating children to witchcraft.

Prophetic Decree: We purge our children of conscious and unconscious evil initiation, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

Lord, give me wisdom to guide the hearts of the children You’ve entrusted to me. Help me to guard what they see and hear, and to teach them Your truth with consistency and love. Let their hearts be rooted in You, O Lord, even as you shield their hearts from wrong influences at home, at school, in the media, amidst friends, etc., in Jesus name. Amen.
