HEALING AFTER A TRAUMATIC RELATIONSHIP (2)

HEALING AFTER A TRAUMATIC RELATIONSHIP (2)

Bible Reading:  2 Corinthians 10: 3-6

Memory VerseFor I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV)

Other pathways to your complete healing after a traumatic relationship include:

4. Renounce the lie you believed because of the pain:  Acute Relationship Experience (A.R.E.) often implants lies such as: “I am not enough.” “Everyone leaves.” “I am unlovable.” The Bible replaces lies with truth. Healing begins when lies are dethroned. “Casting down imaginations… and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.” (2 Corinthians 10:5).

5. Forgive fully, not because they deserve it, but because you deserve freedom: Unforgiveness keeps you stuck in a story that has ended. Forgiveness does not always mean reconnection. It means release. “Forgive one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32

6. Allow God to redefine your future: A.R.E makes people think: “I will never love again,” “It will always end badly.” But God rewrites stories. “For I know the plans I have for you… plans to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11). You are not sentenced to repeat pain.

7. Heal in community: Isolation is where trauma festers. “Two are better than one… if one falls, the other will lift him up.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9–10). Safe community.

Safe counsellor. Safe church. Safe friendships. Healing multiplies in connection.

8. Build again with wisdom, not desperation: After healing, love wisely, not anxiously. “Guard your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the issues of life.” (Proverbs 4:23). You are not looking for someone to complete you, but someone to walk with you.

Quote:  Isolation broods trauma. Avoid it. Two are better than one!

Prophetic Decree:  May God’s purpose be revealed through your trauma, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. I silence every voice of my past speaking woe to my present, in Jesus name.

2. I receive the forgiveness of Christ even as I forgive others, in Jesus name.

3. Today, I receive and walk together with God over His plans and purpose for my life, in Jesus name.

4. I come out of despondency. I refuse to be isolated, in Jesus name.

5. I receive God’s grace to love with wisdom and caution, in Jesus name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:  1 Samuel 9-12
