5) Poor Leadership

Sadly, we are confronted with the issue of failure of leadership at various levels of the society because leadership is a societal phenomenon and not restricted only to a comparatively small group of people in government.

When we talk of a father, a mother, or even a guardian in a family we are talking about leadership. When we talk of a school headmaster, headmistress, Principal or Vice Chancellor, we are talking about leadership. The same goes for Chairman, Managing Director, or a pastor, priest and Bishop. Student Government bodies, Class captains and School prefects are not an exemption.

A good leader is a principled person; a man or woman of his or her words, guided by the right moral compass in the fear of God.

A leader must be ready to suffer for doing the right things, against overwhelming contrary pressures and expectations. It is sad but true, many are only occupying the seat of leadership without the capacity and values needed to pilot its affairs. They are only there to enrich their pockets; acquiring greedily the temporary things of this world.

Action Word:  Learn and embrace the leadership qualities of Jesus.

Prayer Point:

  1. Holy Spirit, help me to lead myself so that I could lead others, too, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Spirit of exemplary leadership, fall upon me by fire, in the name of Jesus
