Bible Reading: Ephesians 6: 1-9

Memory VerseHonor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.”  Ephesians 6: 2-3 (ESV)

You see, the arrogance of the 21st century Christians will obviously do them more harm than good. How can someone tell you not to apologize to your parents whom you offended, and you subscribe to such counsel?  Do you know the enormity of the spiritual authority God confers on parents? This arrogance of yours will leave you longer in the wilderness than you bargained for.  Humility is a fastest and surest path to greatness. Believe me beloved.

One day, a father asked his son for a token of #10,000 ($15) because he was in need. Hitherto, their relationship had been strained. Respectfully in honour, he obliged. Suddenly, he was called for his license to an international breakthrough which hitherto had been concealed. Can you see the spiritual connection. Obviously, the strained relationship was probably an assault from hell to prevent him from moving to his next level.

Listen friends: I believe very strongly in prayers, in fasting, in warfare, etc. But, if you are not careful, all these wonderful things could become another unacceptable sacrifices. To obey the written counsel of God in the Scriptures is better than any sacrifice anyone can make. 1 Samuel 15:22 (NLT) says, “But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the LORD: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.”

In the school of prosperity, parental honour is a major course you must keep taking else, your success diminishes or stagnates.

Honour your parents in cash and in kind. Let me give you an assignment. Do a little research into what your parents love, and try buy it for them monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, bi-annually or yearly, as the Lord blesses you. Surely, you will see your destiny rise. Don’t just confess this Year as your year of manifestation as sons and daughters of God, do the needful. Don’t forget: Your Parents are anyone God has helped to nurture, train, build or help you at one point or the other in your journey in life. As their soul is glad towards you, your destiny rises.

Quote:  Your Parents are channels of prosperity God has factored into time to ease your passage on earth.

Prophetic Decree: Sin, self and the devil shall not separate you from parental blessings, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. I receive humility needed to possess my possessions before my parents, in Jesus name.

2. Lord, go before me to soften the heart of my parents that I may be partaker of their blessings, in Jesus name.

3. O Lord, break self in me, in Jesus name.

4. O Lord, deliver me from arrogant and pride, in Jesus name.

5. Opportunity wasters, my destiny is not your candidate, in Jesus name.
