Bible Reading: Matthew 10:41, Proverbs 20:20; 30:17

Memory VerseAnyone who welcomes a prophet, just because that person is a prophet, will be given the same reward as a prophet. Anyone who welcomes a good person, just because that person is good, will be given the same reward as a good person. Matthew 10:41 (CEV)

It was God’s servant, Pastor E. A. Adeboye who was praying on a particular occasion. Then, he saw something like a grave concerning his son, Bishop David Oyedepo. He took his hand in that revelation and pulled him out of it saying, “What is the living doing among the dead?” Then, he opened his eyes.

By 3a.m, he left Redemption Camp and went straight to Ota. When Papa Oyedepo was told that Daddy Adeboye was downstairs, he was shocked. “What is going on,” he said?”

Pastor Adeboye said, “Come here, kneel down”. What is the living doing among the dead? And he laid hands on him and anointed him.

That day, Bishop David Oyedepo did not tell him (Pastor Adeboye) he was going on a trip to Cyprus. As they took off, got on the air, the first engine of his plane failed. Afterwards, the second engine failed. But the devil came late because a father saw it. Friends, don’t join a generation that abuse fathers. Surely, they may have their own fault, but their place remains permanent in your life and in the scheme of God’s programme on earth.

How do you deal with your spiritual parents?

1. Receive them with the whole of your heart (Mat.10:41).

2. Pray for them from falling or failing (1 Timothy 2:1-3).

3. Never say evil against them: In the kingdom of God there are ranks, and you don’t break ranks (Joel 2:7).

4. Never drag them in the public or in the social media space: As humans, they could err. Sometimes, their Samuel may try to anoint Eliab instead of David. Nevertheless, they remain Samuel – a man whose words never falls to the ground. A man who has found favour before God. Well cultured sons, unlike Ham, should cover the nakedness of their father, else they become accursed (Genesis 9:18-29).

N.B God uses men to raise men. Know for sure that somebody must speak over you. Somebody must launch you into destiny. Focus on the virtues and not the frailty of the human vessel (2 Cor. 4:7).

Quote:  A heart of honour is the only true access to divine heritage.

Prophetic Decree: Your divine inheritance shall not be lost due to dishonour, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you Father for your hand of love and grace.

2. I receive grace to honour my spiritual parents, in Jesus name.

3. Help me Holy Spirit to let go of offences against my spiritual parents, in Jesus name.

4. O Lord, please help my parents to see from you, hear from you, and walk with you at all times, in Jesus name.

5. I refuse to be part of a generation that drag their spiritual parents in the public space, in Jesus name.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Be blessed by this piece I came across: Nothing is Permanent In This World.
