Bible ReadingGenesis 28: 10-17

Memory VerseThen Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it.” Genesis28:16 (NKJV)

Encountering God means coming face to face with the greatest friend we could ever imagine, if only we’ll seek Him. How then do you encounter God?

1. Stay humble: Lay down your crown daily at the feet of the Master despite your numerous kingdom exploits. A proud heart wouldn’t come back for more of Him (2 Chronicles 20:20).

2. Refuse to be complacent: Complacency means self satisfaction. If you are contented about your present spiritual phase, you will not yearn for more. Listen beloved: there is always a new level in God.

3. Daily treasure hunt from the Word: Someone said he has read his Bible several times and perhaps he’s tired of reading. Such a person needs to know that the rhema of the Word is not the same as the logos. You can spend 5 hours on a single verse when the Spirit of revelation comes upon you.

4. Stay hungry: Tommy Tenny said, “There’s got to be more“. Only a desirous and hungry deer rushes after the sounds of water. Psalm 42:1 (NLT) says, “As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God.” How hungry and thirsty are you?

5. Be inquisitive: Don’t settle for lay man answer. Go deeper in your study and research for deeper understanding on any subject matter.

6. Walk with like minds: Proverbs 27:17 (NKJV), “As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” Walk with Christians willing to grow.

7. Pray for a deeper encounter: It is one thing to be willing to grow, and it is another thing for God to be willing to take you deeper.

8. Strive lawfully: Time and chance happens to them all.

9. Have a regular fasting lifestyle.

10. Move beyond your normal quiet time to deliberate seclusion for many hours/days.

11. Grace: Only the confirmation of the grace of God takes a man from one level of encounter to another.

12.Besincere in your quest: Hope your fasting and prayer is not self glorification or mere publicly display of the power of God. Jeremiah 17:10 (NLT), “But I, the LORD, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.”

Quote: Don’t only stay hungry, further increase your capacity.

Prophetic Decree: Your heavens of encounter blasts open by fire, in Jesus mighty name.

Prayer Focus

1. Today, I receive an insatiable thirst for more of God, in Jesus name.

2. O Lord, enlarge my hunger for more of you, in Jesus name.

3. Authority of ease in my spiritual journey with Jesus, fall upon me, in Jesus name.

4. As I open my Bible, may divine scripts open unto me in moving pictures, in Jesus name.

5. Today will not meet me where Yesterday kept me in my walk with my Master, in Jesus name.

THE QUIET DESTROYERS (1)

The Quiet Destroyers are otherwise known as Secret Sins That Ruin Destiny. Many destinies have not been destroyed by loud sins, but by quiet ones. The sins nobody sees. The ones people excuse. The ones hidden behind reputation, ministry, intelligence, or success. Yet heaven sees them clearly. The Bible says, “Be sure your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23). Secret sins do not remain secret forever. They slowly weaken the soul until a man who once carried promise begins to lose weight in the spirit...

THE DANGER OF SECRET SIN

Bro. Gbile Akanni once shared a sobering story that has stayed in my heart for many years. He spoke about an elderly evangelist whom God used mightily in the past. In those days there was no television, only radio. When this man of God preached, people would gather around their radios. Sometimes he would say, “Place your hand on the radio.”...

Many people understand the idea of investing. You put time, money, or effort into something today because you expect a greater return tomorrow. Farmers invest seeds into the soil. Business people invest money into opportunities. Students invest time into studying...
