Bible Reading: Genesis 26: 1-3
Memory Verse:  Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father” Genesis 26:3 (KJV) 

You see, the realm from where you operate from is what determines the type of result you will command. Please take note of this very important point. There is a place for motivational speeches, but that should only come after you have gotten direction from God about the way to go. The New Year has begun, messages such as “Have A Vision For This Year” will be flying around. Perhaps the first question should rather be, “How do I understand the vision of God for my life in year 2024?”.

You can be successful doing the things that God has not commissioned you to do. This is what is called Bad Success. The book of Joshua 1:8 gives a little clue on that. Friends, stop running your life as if there is no guiding instruction manual to know what you are meant to do per time. You had better be connected to the source of true life.

May you not wake up after donkey years of labour at the end of your life to suddenly realise that the ladder you climbed to the top of success was leaning on the wrong side of the wall. What a wasted life. That will not be your portion in Jesus name.

In Genesis 26:1-5, Isaac woke up to go to Egypt for obvious reasons. He needed food at the time of famine. God had to appear to him in order to restrain him. He could have made the same mistake his father, Abraham made at the time of famine. You see, head knowledge will fail you.

Do you know that many directors of multinational companies consult the spirit realm before they make very defining corporate decisions? They know if their vision is not sponsored by a spirit being, no matter their strategies, it will backfire and they could suddenly go bankrupt. Don’t despise strategy, planning and good management practices, there is a place for all of those. However, first get direction from God.

How do you get directions from God? Daily fellowship with God in the place of your Quiet time, being sensitive to the whisper of the Holy Spirit in your heart, deep meditation on the Word of God through discipleship, through Word of knowledge, prophetic direction from your man of God, seeking good counsels, godly mentorship, etc.

I. Decisions, we are told, determine destiny.
II. Not all doors are divine doors.
III. Until your will aligns with His will, you are not on a safe path.
IV. Get your direction right. Speed is not an advantage when you are on a wrong direction.
V. The biggest problem to knowing the will of God is the will of man.

Prophetic Decree:  May your will be buried in God’s will for your life this year, in Jesus name. 

Prayer Focus

1. O Lord, thank you for the promise of divine direction.
2. My Father, you have my permission: Scatter any of my plans that is not in alignment with your perfect will for my life in this New Year, in Jesus name.
3. I receive grace for divine alignment to know your will per time, O Lord.
4. I receive grace for divine alignment to receive your will, O Lord.
5. I receive grace for divine alignment to do your will, O Lord.
