Bible Reading: Isaiah 43: 18-19
Memory Verse: This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)
Receive grace to capture this Year as you read meditatively:
- Genuinely give your life to Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17): Can you confidently say you belong to Christ? Have you indeed handed over every aspect of your life to Christ without holding back to any? In this year, let God be your all in all. Let God be both your saviour and your Lord.
- Cultivate an attitude of gratitude (Psalm 100:4): Say: I refuse to be overwhelmed by any circumstance in life. Friends, you can choose to be happy no matter the situation. Until then, you may not be divinely inspired to see a way out of your challenges. Ingratitude like unhappiness closes the eyes of your mind from seeing solutions or possibilities.
- Die to self (Ephesians 4:22-24): You must make a conscious and deliberate effort not to slide back to your old ways of life. Will you continue to backbite, procrastinate, fornicate, masturbate, smoke, or associate with bad friends in this New Year? Don’t slide back into the dungeon of your woeful past. Put personal disciplinary measures in place to die to self daily, else your vision and new year resolution may soon fade away. Learn to be accountable.
- Forget the former things (Isaiah 43:18-19): Yes, some things did not work out last year, but that shouldn’t kill your morale or douse your faith. It takes a process from conception to birth. A child born in the second trimester is considered as premature. Do you want to give birth to your destiny visions prematurely? The vision is for an appointed time. Celebrate your gradual progress.
- Upskill (Ecclesiastes 10:10): With the way the world is fast evolving, certain skills may become obsolete in the nearest future. Artificial Intelligence is becoming the norm. Perhaps you may start looking at your innate talents that you could match to contemporary demand. Coding/Developers, Data Analysis, Data Science, Machine learning, Cybersecurity, etc, is taking the centre stage. Don’t go to the University to study just any course. Study a course in line with your destiny and societal needs.

Prayer Focus
1. By the mercies of God, I will not slide into old habits, in Jesus name.
2. I receive grace to mount up with wings as Eagles, in Jesus name.
3. I receive wisdom to know what to do and where to go this Year, in Jesus name.
4. O Lord, order my steps into breakthrough this year, in Jesus name.
5. I come against opportunity wasters, in Jesus name.
6. I receive flexibility in my mindset, in Jesus name.
