Bible Reading: Galatians 6:1–2
Memory Verse: Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. Galatians 6:1 (NIV)
It’s easy to notice a wounded believer but often harder to restore them the right way.
Many people are not far from God because of sin. They are far because of how people treated them after they fell.
Some were corrected without love, exposed without mercy, and others were avoided instead of helped.
So instead of healing, they sank deeper.
The Bible didn’t say “judge them.” It said restore them gently. That means your attitude matters just as much as your action.
4 PRACTICAL WAYS TO RESTORE WITHOUT JUDGING
1. Check Your Heart First: Before you speak to them, ask yourself, “Am I trying to help, or prove a point?” If your tone is harsh, even truth will feel like rejection. Instead of saying, “I knew you would fall,” say, “I’m here for you. We’ll get through this together.”
2. Approach Them Privately, Not Publicly: Don’t turn someone’s weakness into a discussion topic. Don’t post indirect messages online or talk in groups. Call them. Meet them. Sit with them. Healing happens in safe spaces. Please avoid public embarrassment.
3. Listen Before You Preach: Sometimes people don’t need a sermon. All they need is someone who will listen. A struggling youth might open up if you simply ask: “What’s really going on?” and actually wait for the answer.
4. Walk with Them, Don’t Just Pray and Leave: Restoration is not one conversation. It’s a process. Check on them during the week. Invite them back to church. Study the Bible with them. Hold them accountable with love. Don’t say “be strong” and disappear.
5. Help with Therapy if needed: Anyone can point out a wound. It takes Christ-like love to help heal it.
Quote: People may not run from God; but they will run from harsh representatives of Him.
Prophetic Decree: Through you, the fallen will rise again in Jesus name.
