IMPORTANT TIPS TO KNOW ABOUT HEARING THE VOICE OF GOD (2)

DWOJ Daily Words of Jesus Devotional Post August

Tuesday, 16th August, 2016.

Scripture Reading:                    Heb 5:14.

Memory verse for the week:   Heb 1:1-2

Long ago God spoke to the fathers by the prophets at different times and in different ways. In these last days, He has spoken to us by His Son. God has appointed Him heir of all things and made the universe through Him. (HCS)

  1. Our own flesh can speak too (especially as a young Christian, when we are under pressure, or we want something urgently).
  • The Holy Spirit could speak in the midst of our thought. e.g. As Peter was thinking, the Holy Ghost spoke. Acts 10:19.
  • Perfecting the art of hearing from God requires time, patience, learning and continuous training/practicing. Heb.5:14, Jer.29:12-13. Don’t give up sometimes when you get it wrong.
  • To hear God, you must develop a calm and sensitive spirit. Isaiah 30:21.
  • Like Solomon, we need to pray for an understanding heart to hear from God. 1kings 3:9.
  • You need to fellowship more with the Holy Spirit. Pray more in the Holy Ghost. Jude 1:20. The more you stay with a friend, the more you know about him!
  • You may desire a particular way by which God speaks e.g. hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit audibly. But, don’t be fussy about it. Some have heard demons speak to them by being fussy about a particular way they want to hear God speak to them. Allow the Holy Spirit speak to you in any way He chooses!

ACTION WORD:       THE HOLY SPIRIT, MY GUARDIAN.

PRAYER POINT:

  1. Holy Spirit of God, show me your way daily in my life, in the name of Jesus.
  2. I receive the Spirit of discernment, I shall not be led astray by demon voices, in the name of Jesus.
