Innovation, for its part, can refer to something new or to a change made to an existing product, idea, or field. One might say that the first telephone was an invention, the first cellular telephone was either an invention or an innovation, and the first smartphone an innovation. Innovation is the introduction of new ideas, goals and methods. It means pondering on the current industry standard and then considering whether it can be improved.

In everyday life, innovation can take different forms such as embracing change, enhancing your daily routine, or challenging the status quo. One of the most important characteristics of an innovative idea is that it solves a problem. True innovation adds real value to those who use it. In other words, an innovative idea helps improve people’s lives. Examples of successful innovative products include the introduction of electric cars, smart home technologies, or advancements in medical devices.

In the South-eastern Nigerian region of Anambra State, a creative artist is turning cans into masterpieces of art! Ifedilichukwu Chibuike found the inspiration when he saw the pollution the cans were causing. So, he thought he would not only recycle the trash into art, but save the environment can by can!

Sweden’s electric charging roads are an innovative way to charge electric vehicles (EVs) while driving. EVs can now charge wirelessly as they drive over the road, eliminating the need to stop at charging stations. EVs can use smaller, less expensive batteries because they are continuously charged. Sweden’s efforts to build electric charging roads are part of a larger goal to combat climate change and promote eco-friendly mobility.

Many years ago, a man called Otuba Gaddafi brought out the innovative idea of mobile toilets, used especially in ceremonies. He saw a problem and found an innovative way to solve it, and he was highly remunerated.

Innovation can be technology based or not. Innovation may not necessarily be one special breakthrough idea that nobody has ever heard of. When we say innovation is novel, it doesn’t necessarily mean nobody has ever heard it. Innovation doesn’t have to be gigantic. It could be simple but disruptive and uncommon. Innovation requires a lot of curiosity and critical thinking.

Quote: Innovation requires an experimental mindset – Denise Morrison

THE QUIET DESTROYERS (2)

One of the greatest dangers in the life of a believer is not the sins everyone can see, but the ones that hide quietly in the heart. Hebrews 12:1 says, “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles”...
