Bible Reading: Exodus 20:3

Memory VerseYou must not have any other god but me. Exodus 20:3 (NLT)

INTERNET stands for Interconnected Network. It is a network system that connects millions of web servers. The word internetted was used as early as 1849, meaning interconnected or interwoven. The word Internet was used in 1974 as the shorthand form of Internetwork. The initial idea of the Internet is credited to Leonard Kleinrock after he published his first paper entitled “Information Flow in Large Communication Nets” on May 31, 1961. The Internet is a vast network that connects computers all over the world.

Through the Internet, people can share information and communicate from anywhere. You can read your e-mail (electronic mail), research, download files, form a discussion group, play games, educate, self improve, meet a friend, read e-magazines and e-newspaper, job-hunt, shop online and market online.

The internet is like a double edged sword. What it does to you can only be determined by you. It could be very helpful for the aforementioned purposes, and at the same time, it could be very destructive. People have contacted wrong spirits when they read certain classified books and were subsequently initiated into witchcraft. People who invited new friends they met on the Internet to their house and were subsequently  murdered. People have dated a man when they thought he was a woman. Internet gambling has charted away people’s life savings and properties.

Many have been duped by internet fraudsters. Many have lost their sanity due to pornography that is always a click away. Workers productivity have been researched to be reduced due to late night i-music and i-movies. Even students have been known to fail their examination due to this subtle internet addiction.

Just like the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was in the garden of Eden amongst many other trees Adam and Eve could eat from, your free will and its attendant consequences – good or evil – will always be at work anytime you log on to the internet. Be warned.

Quote: The internet is like a double edged sword. What it does to you can only be determined by you.

Prophetic Decree: Receive your deliverance from the subtle addiction of the internet, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you Father because you will remain Lord over my life.

2. Today, I repent and break away from Internet addiction in Jesus name.

3. I receive grace for self control and self restraint while on the Internet, in Jesus name.

4. Modern day idolatry shall not separate me from the love of my Saviour, in Jesus name.

5. The Holy Spirit shall shield me away from witchcraft sponsored content and materials, in Jesus name.
