Bible Reading: Exodus 23: 25-26, Job 36:11

Memory Verse You must serve only the LORD your God. If you do, I will bless you with food and water, and I will protect you from illness. Exodus 23:25 (NLT)

Please sing the hymn: “It pays to serve Jesus I speak from my heart” on page 103. Brother, you were fervent and zealous for the Master before you got a job. Today, you are now too busy. This is one reason why some people’s progress plateau / stagnates. They disqualify themselves for the next stage of glory when they refused to continually serve the Lord in humility. News Flash: You will never have a good reason for not working actively for Master Jesus. If God is indeed your source, you will surely service your altar. “For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.” Acts 17:28 (KJV).

There are Commissioners of State who still go about winning souls for Christ. Infact, people are more oblique to listen to them because they wield influence. They are using their influence positively to win more souls to the kingdom of God. Repent and be restored, dear brother and sister. Kingdom service is a lifetime assignment.

There is a story of a brother who had passion to work in the Sanctuary department of his Church. Particularly, he was assigned to washing the toilets. He did that with excellence. There was always something special about the toilet when he washes them. One thing led to the other, and he turned that to a full time business outside the Church, and afterwards to owning mobile toilets. Today, he is a millionaire in foreign currency. Hear me beloved: Not everything is obtainable by ONLY praying and fasting. God cuts covenant with men who sell their lives out to working for Him in the area where He has called them. Be wise, dear friends. Supernatural wealth is many atimes an outflow of covenant kingdom partnership with God borne out of diligent kingdom service (Exodus 23:25).

What are you doing for the Lord in your Church, in your campus fellowship, in your place of work, etc? Today, there are many “secret disciples” of Jesus who enjoy hiding their identity as Christians amongst their friends, or in their place of work. If traditional worshippers and free masons are not ashamed to be identified with their belief, why should you? The children of the bond woman openly pray anywhere, even in public places unashamedly. G. Campbell Morgan said, “If you have no opposition in the place you serve, you’re serving in the wrong place.” Don’t allow the spiritual lukewarmness in your environment choke your profession for Jesus, your Master. Let us wake up to daily service unto our Master, dear brother. God’s people shouldn’t be ashamed or coaxed into serving the Lord God. Serve the Lord passionately and sacrificially.

Quote In the Kingdom of God, service is not a stepping-stone to nobility: it is nobility, the only kind of nobility that is recognized  – T.W. Manson.

Prophetic Decree: You shall serve God till the end, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Lord, please forgive my lukewarmness and negligence, in Jesus name.

2. I refuse to be a secret disciple. I shall serve God boldly and unashamedly, in Jesus name.

3. May my character attract people to Christ, in Jesus name.

4. May my life be a prophetic pointer to the Cross, in Jesus name.

5. Fire for unquenchable kingdom service, rest upon my head, in Jesus name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:

HYMN:  IT PAYS TO SERVE JESUS, I SPEAK FROM MY HEART

1. It pays to serve Jesus, I speak from my heart;

He’ll always be with us, if we do our part;

There’s naught in this wide world can pleasure afford,

There’s peace and contentment in serving the Lord.

Refrain:

I love Him far better than in days of yore,

I’ll serve Him more truly than ever before;

I’ll do as He bids me, whatever the cost,

I’ll be a true soldier — I’ll die at my post.

2. And oft when I’m tempted to turn from the track,

I think of my Savior — my mind wanders back

To the place where they nailed Him on Calvary’s tree—

I hear a voice saying, I suffered for thee.

3. There’s a place that remembrance still brings back to me,

’Twas there I found pardon — ’twas Heaven to me;

There Jesus spoke sweetly to my weary soul,

My sins were forgiven, He made my heart whole.

4. How rich is the blessing the world cannot give,

I’m satisfied fully for Jesus to live;

Tho’ friends may forsake me, and trials arise,

I’m trusting in Jesus, His love never dies.
