Dr D.K. Olukoya once said, “Divine favour is like the spiritual capital for your advancement. And one minute of favour can make you forget all your past pains. With divine favour, you become God’s favourite!” The fourth key to activating favour is prayer:

4. PRAYER:  “Prayer does not make God love you more, it makes you aligned enough to receive what His love has already made available” — Apostle Joshua Selman. Take note:

A. Favour Has a Spiritual Root: Favour is not first an earthly occurrence. It is a spiritual verdict. When God decides to lift a man, He moves the hearts of men in that person’s direction (Proverbs 21:1). Prayer is the means by which we invite God to tilt hearts, rearrange circumstances, and create divine opportunities. Exodus 3:21, “And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians…” This means there was a spiritual decree (in heaven) that made the Egyptians suddenly generous toward Israel. This prayer can still replicate in the lives of believers today.

B. How Does Prayer Provoke Favour?

i. Prayer Changes Spiritual Atmospheres: There are atmospheres of rejection, delay, and obscurity. Intense prayer breaks them and releases an aura that attracts goodwill. There are forces that make men forget you, despise you, or hate you without cause. Prayer neutralises them.

ii. Prayer Positions You for Divine Promptings: Favour often comes as instructions: “Call this person,” “Send that proposal,” “Go to that meeting.” Prayer makes your spirit sensitive to these whispers of the Holy Spirit in your heart.

iii. Prayer Brings Angelic Assistance: Favour is often “angelically supported.” When you pray, you authorise divine messengers to influence people and systems on your behalf (Psalm 103:20).

iv. Prayer Preserves the Favour You Receive: Prayer sustains the flow. Without constant communion, favour can dry up because you lose alignment with the Source. “Many people rise by favour but fall because they stopped praying.” — Apostle Selman.

C. Kinds of Prayers That Stir Favour

i. Thanksgiving and Worship: Gratitude keeps doors open.

ii. Prophetic Declarations: Speaking favour over your day, business, and relationships.

iii. Intercessory Prayers: When you pray for others, God moves others to remember you.

iv. Enquiry Prayers: Asking, “Lord, what must I do to walk in greater favour?”

Quote:  Prayer neutralises forces that make men forget you, despise you, or hate you without cause. 

Prophetic Decree: Let your angel of favour herald your name and your needs in the hearts of your destiny helpers, in Jesus name. 

Prayer Focus 

1. Let there be a spiritual emergency that will provoke divine favour in my life, in Jesus name. 

2. By the mercy and favour of God, I change the atmosphere of rejection, loss, forgetfulness by helpers of destiny, in Jesus name. 

3. Any attitude in my life drying up the Oil of favour upon my head, catch fire, in Jesus name. 

4. I command this day to herald a new heaven of favour for me and my family, in Jesus name. 

5. My day of favour, manifest by fire today, in Jesus name. 

6. Angel of favour, goodness and glad tidings, my life is available, locate me NOW, in Jesus name.
