Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 18:1-4

Memory Verse:  Honour (respect, obey, care for) your father and your mother, so that your days may be prolonged in the land the LORD your God gives you. Exodus 20:12 (AMP)

Currencies are medium of exchange for goods and services. Unlike the world system, kingdom currencies do not always require money. Kingdom currencies are spiritual values, principles, and attitudes that attract divine favour, open doors, and cause growth. Amongst such include:

1. Honour – Currency of Access and Promotion: By honour we mean esteeming others and God’s order. Proverbs 3:9-10 says, “Honour the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing…”  (Proverbs 3:9-10). When you honour men, especially those who have parental, governmental, or spiritual authority over you despite their mistakes or excesses as humans, you will surely provoke a covenanted blessing.

Example: When David honoured King Saul (even though Saul sought to kill him), God promoted David in due time (1 Samuel 24:5-7). Honour also attract access to people and resources. Honour your parents that your days may be well [Exodus 20:12 (AMP)].

2. Integrity — Currency of Trust and Preservation: By integrity, we mean consistent moral uprightness even when no one is watching. Proverbs 11:3 says, “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.”

Example: Joseph refused to sin with Potiphar’s wife (Genesis 39:7-9). Though it cost him initially, it preserved him and eventually elevated him to be Prime Minister of Egypt. Again, Pastor Ibukun Awosika, first female Chairperson of First Bank of Nigeria, once shared how proven integrity opened some uncommon doors for her. Today, she’s seated on many international boards. Friends, integrity is who you are when no one is watching.

3. Relationships — Currency of Destiny and Platforms: This is a very important currency that opens many doors effortlessly. Relationships are strategic divine connections that facilitate purpose. Ecclesiastes 4: 9-10 says, “Two are better than one… For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow.”

Example: Jonathan’s relationship with David preserved David’s life (1 Samuel 18:1-4). Divine relationships serve as ladders to destiny. Again, the testimony is told of a brother who has a friend who knows the consul of a particular embassy. Within 48 hours, the same embassy who hitherto denied him a visa told him to come get it. Never despise relationships. Build and protect your divine relationship. While some relationships are for a lifetime, there are others mutually profitable only for a season. Be warned: Be careful the way you close the door to any relationship. You may not need the relationship now, but you may discover you need it years to come.

QuoteKingdom currencies are power points to achieving ease in the school of life.

Prophetic Decree: The currency needed to buy your future, may God give unto you, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. I receive grace for honour, in the name of Jesus.

2. Holy Spirit, please help me to be true to myself, in the name of Jesus.

3. I receive grace to walk in integrity especially when no one is watching, in Jesus name.

4. O Lord, please connect me to destiny relationships capable of changing my destiny, in Jesus name.

5. I receive wisdom to guard my destiny relationships, in Jesus name.
