Bible Reading: Hebrews 13:4, 5:14

Memory VerseMarriage should be honored by all and the marriage bed kept undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Hebrews 13:4 (BSB)

Think about the phrase in our memory verse again, “..the marriage bed kept undefiled…”. It seems to me that the devil who is crafty in his many devices has innovated other means of defiling the marriage bed. You know, this generation is full of many aberrations which deviates from the divine original. How do you feel when you hear things like “leaked sex tape”? Isn’t that absurd? In my personal opinion, I do not think the sacredness the Bible confers on the sanctity of marriage caters for such. Sex is primarily for intimacy between a man and a woman who happens to be husband and wife; both must have been joined together on the altar of God in holy matrimony. Why then should they film themselves for the whole world to see, or, until someone stumbles on such a video and use it as a means of cheap blackmail on the internet? On the other hand, many high profile people who indulge in extra marital affairs have been shamefully disgraced in the public by such humiliating sodomic act.

The other time, a celebrity ran to the social media to “put the facts straight” because someone has been threatening to broadcast her sexual escapade with her boyfriend until it goes viral. Before she is forced into a “damage control” scenario, she decided to bare the facts in the pool of public opinion. Indeed, the Bible is right. Proverbs 13:15 (KJV) says, “Good understanding gives favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.” First, you are not legally married to the person you slept with. That is a sin before God. Secondly, why indulge in a recorded sex tape adventure? Thirdly, your reputation is debatable if not damaged before the world. Please hear me beloved: Simplicity will preserve your destiny. 2 Corinthians 11:3 (NJKV) says, “But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” As much as possible, try to keep your private life away from public debate talkless of your sexual life. Decide to live a holy life. It is Christian marriage before sexual intimacy. These are the standards of the scriptures. Think on these things.
