Memory VerseFor a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us. Isaiah 9:6a (CSB)

Merry Christmas. Whether today is the official date in the Jewish calendar for celebrating the birthday of Jesus or not, one thing is sure – a king was born for the purpose of reconciling man to God and we are celebrating him on a day like this. Shall we continue from where we put a pause yesterday?

Fourthly, a lot of battles accompanied the birth of Jesus. If you have ever wondered why your life and finances was particularly hard when one of your children was born, now you know. Any child of destiny and purpose usually attract battles. King Herod of Jesus’ day wanted to kill him. No one wants to have a rival. Herod is the generic name for powers that kill great destinies at infancy. For every child that is born, a star appears in the heavens visible to the “secret seers”. No wonder the three wise men could see the star of Jesus in the heavens by the power of astrology. Star gazers shall not capture your star, in Jesus name. Triangular powers shall not trap your glory, in Jesus name.

Finally, even though Jesus was the Son of God, He was “under tutors and governors until the time appointed by His Father” (Galatians 4:1-2). He had to be under His earthly parents for many years before launching out fully into His purpose. This teaches humility. There is time for everything in the agenda of God. You must learn to submit to a higher authority. There are dimensions of wisdom that can only come over time through observation and mentoring. John 2:24 (NKJV) says, “But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men.” Jesus knew all men both physically and spiritually. Don’t launch out of your training season before you’re through. Be wary of premature manifestation. Tarry to carry. Let God do a thorough work in you.

Before rounding off, it is the season to celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ but, do you really know this king the world is celebrating today? Have you known him, do you pattern your ways in His ways? Hope you have accepted Him not only as your Saviour, but also as your Lord? Now that He is your Lord, will you fully obey Him promptly and totally, even if it cost? Meditate on these things. Merry Christmas.

Quote: Until you encounter Jesus as your Lord, the purpose of your life cannot find true expression.

Prophetic Decree: The purpose of your birth shall be fulfilled, in Jesus name.
