DWOJ Daily Words of Jesus Devotional Post February

Saturday, 4thFebruary, 2017.

Bible reading: Psa. 91:14, Deut. 32:11-14.

Memory Verse: “Saul and Jonathan were beloved and pleasant in their lives, And in their death they were not divided; They were swifter than eagles, They were stronger than lions” 2 Samuel 1:23(NKJV).

3. Eagles are Tenacious

To be tenacious is to hold firmly to a particular thing, to be very determined to do something, to be extremely persistent in adhering to or doing something.

Watch an eagle when a storm comes. When other birds fly away from the storm with fear, an eagle spreads its mighty wings and uses the current to soar to greater heights. The eagle takes advantage of the very storm that lesser birds fear. They use the pressure of the storm to glide higher without using their own energy. They are able to do this because God has created them uniquely with an ability to lock their wings in a fixed position in the midst of the fierce stormy winds.

Challenges are part of life. There are storms we must face to rise to greater heights. Like an eagle, we will rise to greater heights if we take up the challenges head on without running away from it. Winners never quit and quitters never win.

4. Eagles are High Flyers (Isa. 40:31)

Eagles can fly up to an altitude of 10,000 feet and could swiftly land on the ground. An Eagle doesn’t mingle around with the pigeons. Pigeons scavenge on the ground. They grumble and complain all day long. Eagles do not. They fly and make less noise waiting for opportunities to strike their next prey or glide with the current of the storm. Great leaders are problem solvers. They don’t complain like the pigeons. They love to face challenges as the eagle.

Quote: “At 10,000 feet, you will never find another bird. If you find a bird, it has to be an eagleDr. Myles Munroe.

Prophetic Word: You shall not only soar above all stormy wind; you shall soar to higher heights, in Jesus name.

Prophesy:

  1. I’ll fly to the peak of God’s divine destiny for me; I shall not stop my journey half way.
  2. Challenges shall pave way for my lifting in the name of Jesus.
