Bible Reading: Isaiah 43:18-19, Ephesians 4:31-32, Ecclesiastes 3:6

Memory Verse: Forget what happened long ago! Don’t think about the past. Isaiah 43:18 (CEV)

There was this man who was burning for the Lord and consumed with passion for the things of God. His introduction was in few weeks’ time. In a friendly talk with his would-be wife, she suddenly discovered they’ve got compatibility issues. She resolved the relationship was over. Over? She walked out on him and infact, out of his life. He was perplexed, confused and bewildered. He soon fell sick. His Pastor told him to come over to his residence. While there, he refused to eat. Then he told him something I don’t ever want you to forget. He told him, “Close your hands”. He did.

Then he asked him, “Can you receive anything?”. He said no. As long as you close your hands, heart, or life up in bitterness, hurt, frustration, malice, or unforgiveness, you will never receive the love of God. The Pastor then told him to open his hands. Friends, we all work in progress. There are people you least expected that will hurt you, disappoint you, say evil things about you, but as long as you bottle up the bitterness and resentment that comes from such occurrence, you will never be open to the mercies of the Lord which infact are new everyday. Hurting people hurt others. Let it go. Then, amongst other things:

1. Pray for the special grace to forgive.

2. Read the testimonies of those who forgave. Believe me, more terrible things happened to other Christians yet, they forgave.

3. Sow a seed of love in cash and/or in kind to the person. By so doing, you break the grip of that spirit of unforgivingness whose primary aim is to provoke an offence and consequently, steal your glorious future, harvest and blessings.

Receive grace. We can also learn a lot from nature. “There’s something incredibly honest about trees in winter, how they’re experts at letting things go” – Jeffery McDaniel. The trees do not try to force the summer. They know when to let go and trust that the warmth will return one day.

Quote: If you want to fly on the sky, you need to leave the earth. If you want to move forward, you need to let go the past that drags you down. –AmitRay.

Prophetic Decree: All shackles from the pit of hell binding your heart to your past, breaks now, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus:

1. Thank you Father for granting me grace to live above my hurts.

2. The spirit of yesterday holding my destiny, release my destiny, in the name of Jesus.

3. The spirit of unforgiveness holding my destiny, release my destiny, in the name of Jesus.

4. The spirit of bitterness holding my destiny, release my destiny, in the name of Jesus.

5. The spirit of resentment holding my destiny, release my destiny, in the name of Jesus.
