DWOJ Daily Words of Jesus Devotional Post December

Friday, 30th December, 2016.

Bible reading: Matthew 11:28-29.

Memory Verse:    “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 (NKJV)

Do you know? It is possible to be in a palace working for a King Day and night, eating his food, washing his dishes, and perhaps making his bed yet, without any sound knowledge of the person of the king.

In that same way, it is possible to have enjoyed the riches of the glory of God all throughout the year without ever having an opportunity to sit down before Him in a relationship.

It is sad but true, that many only have the head knowledge of God but their heart is far from Him. You are a worker in your Church or attend Church services regularly doesn’t mean you’re known by Him.

Don’t deceive yourself. Are you really born again? Why did you sneak that movie into your room afraid of what anyone that catches you with it could say? What about the various nude magazines that has flooded your room? Can you conveniently give your phone to your Pastor to keep for you? The various dirty songs, nude pictures, and bizarre wallpapers in it wouldn’t give you such confidence.

The year is rounding off as time ticks. This is another opportunity to surrender your life to Christ in total obedience to the Cross. For some, there’s a need to rededicate their lives because they’ve lost out of the joy of their salvation.

Is your name written in the Book of Life?

Action Word:  You’re either born again or you’re not.

Prayer of Confession and rededication:

Father Lord, I’m sorry for the deceiving myself in the pretence that I was deceiving my Parents and neighbours. I repent of my sin of deceit. Here I am in your hands, in absolute surrender to your will. Come oh Lord into my heart, take my sins away and wash me by your Blood. Write my name in the Book of life, in Jesus name I pray.
