The phrase, “the lust of the flesh,” means anything that pampers your appetite, or all that is connected with animal propensities. The lust of the flesh refers to those things we crave for with the intent of satisfying our fleshy desires and appetites. E.g. Use of substances such as alcohol, cocaine, marijuana, weed, and cigarette. Watching ungodly movies and bloody wrestling, gambling, ungodly jest, backbiting and gossiping are all siblings of lust of the flesh. You bow to the lust of your flesh when you refuse to pray and fast.

Sex (casual sex, pornography, and reading erotic magazines) is a major weapon of the lust of the flesh which is fast killing teenagers and youths. The desire for a satisfaction outside the confines of Christian marriage must be avoided. There is more to sex than mere skin on skin. Sex is as much spiritual mystery as physical act. As written in the Scripture, “The two become one”. 1Cor.6:16(MSG). Sex is a convenant. Please read 1 Corinthians 6:18 (TLB).

Prophetic Word: Receive the power and the fire to fight every lust of the flesh, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. I receive the grace to resist unto blood, striving against sin (Heb.12:4)

• I break every evil magnet of sin and lust, in my foundation, in Jesus name.

• Holy Spirit, break the yoke of lust in my destiny, in Jesus name.

• The work of the flesh in my life, die, in Jesus name.

• Any power promoting the flesh over my spirit, die, in Jesus name.
