MANY CHURCHES BUT SO LITTLE TRANSFORMATION

MANY CHURCHES BUT SO LITTLE TRANSFORMATION

Bible Reading: Acts 19: 18 – 20, Matthew 16:18

Memory Verse: So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed. Acts 19:20 (KJV)

Sometimes, you will see a 3- storey building housing three different Churches. Atimes, a denomination will have to vacate a hall for another denomination to use for the same Sunday service. Worst still, pastors from the same denomination fight each other over proximity of their churches to each other. O Lord, what has befallen our generation? Please don’t get me wrong. I am not against establishment of churches because God has given His Generals, our fathers in faith different mandates.
However, I believe there should be a structure, and ultimately, the quality of lives of the congregants must be more important in our church administration and decision making process than any other thing. If we will borrow a lead from the early church, perhaps we can say that we need more house fellowships than churches especially for effective follow up and discipleship. There are so many Churches, yet our world is still full of enmity, kidnaping, hatred, corruption, arson, tribalism, witchcraft, etc.
It should concern you if there are so-called fire brand churches on a street, and yet, there is a brothel or beer parlor thriving successfully on that same street. Where really is the revival fire? That will not happen in the days of John Knox who shut down the beer parlors in an entire country. He wailed unto God on his knees, “Give me Scotland or I die”. Now, that takes me to the next question: What really are we Pastors preaching? When last did your pastor talk about Living the crucified life, Absolute Surrender, Sacrificial obedience, The Cross, Righteousness, Holiness, New birth, Genuine salvation, Heaven, The Second coming of Christ, or Hell, etc.
We need sound teachers of the word especially for Sunday worship service and weekly Bible study. Not until we are deliberate about the spiritual growth of the members of the Church, we shall continue to go on this vicious cycle of little or no transformational impact in the lives of the brethren while we are so full of activities. O Lord, purge your Church and let it start from me.
Quote: Change starts with you.
Prophetic Decree: We scatter all the deceitful activities of the devil in the body of Christ, in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus

  1. O God, purge your church, in Jesus name.
  2. Satanic veil upon the eyes of God’s ministers, catch fire, in Jesus name.
  3. O Lord, give us pastors after your own heart, in the name of Jesus.
  4. Revival fire of God, come upon the body of Christ, in Jesus name.
  5. Wolves in sheep’s clothing in the body of Christ, receive shame and disgrace, in Jesus name.

THE QUIET DESTROYERS (2)

One of the greatest dangers in the life of a believer is not the sins everyone can see, but the ones that hide quietly in the heart. These sins rarely attract attention, yet they slowly drain spiritual strength and weaken a man’s destiny. Hebrews 12:1 says, “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles”...

THE QUIET DESTROYERS (1)

The Quiet Destroyers are otherwise known as Secret Sins That Ruin Destiny. Many destinies have not been destroyed by loud sins, but by quiet ones. The sins nobody sees. The ones people excuse. The ones hidden behind reputation, ministry, intelligence, or success. Yet heaven sees them clearly. The Bible says, “Be sure your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23). Secret sins do not remain secret forever. They slowly weaken the soul until a man who once carried promise begins to lose weight in the spirit...

THE DANGER OF SECRET SIN

Bro. Gbile Akanni once shared a sobering story that has stayed in my heart for many years. He spoke about an elderly evangelist whom God used mightily in the past. In those days there was no television, only radio. When this man of God preached, people would gather around their radios. Sometimes he would say, “Place your hand on the radio.”...
