THREE DIMENSIONS OF WISDOM NEEDED BY A MINISTER (3)

Continued from last quarter….

This write-up is credited to Pastor Bimbo Animashaun. There are three dimensions of wisdom that a minister of the Gospel should strive to operate in constantly by the help of God. Today, we shall consider the third type:

(3) STRATEGIC WISDOM: Now here comes what many ministers require today — STRATEGIC WISDOM. The difference between PROPHETIC WISDOM and STRATEGIC WISDOM is that the former tells you WHAT TO DO but the latter shows you HOW TO DO. God told Isaac not to go to Egypt in a bid to escape the famine (that was PROPHETIC WISDOM) but it didn’t end there; Isaac could still have stayed in Gerar and become irrelevant if he didn’t not know HOW TO DO. So, how did STRATEGIC WISDOM function in Isaac? Genesis 26:12, “THEN ISAAC SOWED IN THAT LAND, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.” “THEN ISAAC SOWED IN THAT LAND”.

That’s STRATEGIC WISDOM. Knowing how to go about what you’re asked to do. The Word tells us: ECCLESIASTICS 10:15, “The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not HOW TO GO TO THE CITY.” The emphasis is on HOW TO GO TO THE CITY. A minister can be labouring laboriously but if he’s not STRATEGIC, he will have nothing to show for it.

STRATEGIC WISDOM is key in ministry — it comes by SPIRITUAL INSIGHT AND MATURITY IN THE THINGS OF THE SPIRIT. A man of God can spend a lot of money on a particular aspect of ministry, which many will traditionally call a waste of resources but truth is that in five years’ time, the results that will come out of that spiritual investment will be ten times the harvest of 100 years — that’s called STRATEGIC WISDOM.

When you see ministers using small resources to do big things in ministry, that’s STRATEGIC WISDOM in action. When you see ministers using plenty resources to do things that will forever bless and impact generations (things that money cannot buy), that’s STRATEGIC WISDOM. Today, many ministers need to engage what I call STRATEGIC WISDOM to take their work to a higher level by the Spirit. They’re great labourers but they lack strategies. Now for those who always misinterpret people’s context of teaching, I believe in THE GRACE OF GOD, and I never said that it’s not by Grace. What I’m saying is that no matter the level of God’s Grace available to a man of God, if he doesn’t labour in STRATEGIC WISDOM to take a delivery of that Grace, it will still make no difference. STRATEGIC WISDOM is a fundamental requirement for ministry exploits. You can carry many prophecies on your life but if you’re not STRATEGIC; if you don’t know THE STEPS to take, nothing will happen. STRATEGIC WISDOM is what I believe is spoken of in Acts 6:3 — talking about HOW TO ADMINISTER THE BUSINESS AFFAIRS OF THE CHURCH. Acts 6:3, “Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, FULL OF THE HOLY GHOST AND WISDOM, whom we may appoint OVER THIS BUSINESS.”

All these three dimensions of wisdom are connected to the ministry of the Holy Spirit, and if you as a minister can labour along these three areas, the sky will definitely be your beginning in ministry.

May the Lord give us understanding!
