Bible Reading: Exodus 20: 3-4
Memory Verse: He who sacrifices to any god, other than to the LORD alone, shall be
utterly destroyed. Exodus 22:20

The entertainment and fashion industry has attracted many fans to itself – Hollywood,
Bollywood, and Nollywood. Teenagers, youths and even adults adore the superstars
these trio have produced. Some go ahead to confess a particular star as their idol saying,
“I can die for this person”. They copy the latest fashion, hair do, hair cut, tattoo,
“steppings” etc, from these set of people. Indeed, the media is a powerful source of
influence.
Without any doubt, we are human. Certain things simply catch our attention and among
such things is fashion and entertainment. But, you have got to be careful. You have got
to use your discretion. Draw a line. One great sin God detest throughout the Bible is
Idolatry. Anything could become an idol. An idol is a symbol of worship. Remember the
first commandment: I am the Lord thy God; thou shalt not have strange gods before Me
(Exo. 20:3-4). Never should you replace your God with any mortal man. Appreciate
talent but worship only the God that gives talents. Many talk about football stars so
passionately until they forget to do anything about their own star! Don’t be a fool. When
will your own world celebrate you? What will your own generation say concerning you?
If you must watch home videos, watch those produced by seasoned writers who will not
compromise the standard of God. It must be devoid of any sexual content and violence.
Guard your heart with all diligence for out of it flows the issues of life. “Idols are anything
that takes God’s place in giving us fulfillment, satisfaction, security or significance. Many
of the things that people have idolized – both past and present – are not necessarily bad
things, but good things that take bad positions on our priority tree”
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Deuteronomy 3 – 4
Quote: It is a sin to worship man in word or deed.
Prophetic Decree: I curse subtle satanic distraction hunting your soul in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus:

  1. Repent of any sin of idolatry.
  2. Pray for a Divine vision to pursue all the days of my life.
  3. Decree: I shall be celebrated in my generation in the name of Jesus.
  4. Father, deliver me from hero worshipping of any man in Jesus name.
  5. I reject the demon of the entertainment world in Jesus name.
