Scripture Reading: Col 3:16-17.

Memory verse for the week:   2 Cor.10:12

“For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.” (NKJV)

Music is food for the soul. It is a means of relaxation, information, and enjoyment. It lifts up the broken hearted and soothes the soul of man. Nevertheless, there is no music without a spirit backing it up – either the Spirit of God or the spirit of the devil.

Please don’t take it for granted that you can listen to any form of music without any consequence. Listen teen, you open your life to spirits (good or bad) and consequently unconscious covenants as you sing or mime the words of any music. Music is a spiritual transaction between spirits.

A popular musician once sang a song repeating again and again the word “Doro”. Little do people know that the song is dedicated to an Indian water goddess. As you dance, sing and mime the song, you invite the spirit of such water mermaid. Later in life such a person could become a deliverance candidate running from pillar to post due to unconscious evil covenant with water/marine spirits and sometimes, evil spiritual marriage.

Again, years ago there was another musician. Whenever this particular musician of blessed memory comes to sing in concerts many years ago, the whole hall was jammed; filled to the brim. Soon, you would see the corpse of some of his audience been carried out of the choky hall. This musician was a living idol. What most people didn’t know was that the people who died were being used as a sacrifice, even as the fame of this musician continued to soar higher. This said musician later died mysteriously leaving his Parents and children behind him. Vanity upon vanity! Eccl 1:2

Haven’t you observed that many secular artistes die by strange circumstances? Why? Many have sold their souls to the devil. They enjoy the evil contract with the devil for an agreed period of time, and he cuts off their life at an unripe age. Nothing is free with the devil!

Discipline your ears to listen only to music that glorify God; and teach good morals.

ACTION WORD: BE CAREFUL BEFORE YOU SING. TEST ALL SPIRITS.

PRAYER POINT:

1. I cast out every foul spirit I have contacted listening to wrong music, in Jesus name.
2. Holy Spirit, discipline my ears and heart, in Jesus name.
