Bible Reading: Proverbs 24:16, Romans 8:28

Memory Verse:  Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize1 Corinthians 9:24 (NIV)

1. Before becoming a doctor, Carl Allamby spent 25 years as an auto mechanic and ran his own successful repair business. Despite his achievements, he always had a deep passion for medicine. However, financial struggles and personal challenges made the dream of becoming a doctor seem impossible. Everything changed after he lost his father, which reignited his determination to enter healthcare. While still working as a mechanic, Allamby started taking science courses, balancing work and study with incredible dedication.

His persistence led him to medical school, where he attended the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. In 2022, at the age of 51, he finally became a doctor. His inspiring journey proves that age is no barrier to success, and with hard work, resilience, passion, and above all, God’s grace, you can achieve your dreams at any stage in life. Never give up on your dreams!

    2. Eberechi Oluchi Eze, born on the 29th June 1998. He is an English professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or left winger for Premier League club Crystal Palace and the England national team. His journey is one of resilience. A coach once told him, “If we didn’t sign you, you were almost working at Tesco”. He joined Arsenal Youth Academy, but was released at age 13. Joined Fulham Academy but was later released. Joined Reading for 4 months, but was later released.

Joined Millwall but was later released. All of these happened before he was 18 years old. His dedication and resilience culminated in a historic moment on May 17, 2025, when he scored the winning goal in the FA Cup Final against Manchester City, securing Crystal Palace’s first major trophy in its 120-year history. The journey is never easy. As long as you don’t stop, backed up with God’s grace, you stand a chance.

QuoteOur greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is to always try just one more time ― Thomas Edison.
