Bible Reading: Philippians 2: 5-11

Memory Verse:  Who, although He existed in the form and unchanging essence of God [as One with Him, possessing the fullness of all the divine attributes—the entire nature of deity], did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped or asserted [as if He did not already possess it, or was afraid of losing itPhilippians 2:6 (AMP)

Shall we learn from the wisdom of Rob Jackson on steps to overcome pride:

1. Daily Examination and Surrender: Begin each day with a prayerful self-examination, asking God to reveal any areas of pride in your thoughts, actions and attitudes. Humbly surrender your heart to God’s guidance.

2. Accountability and Feedback: Seek accountability from trusted friends or mentors. Ask them to provide honest feedback about any signs of pride they may observe in your life. Be open to their insights and be willing to make necessary changes. Prayerfully consider your accountability partners.

3. Genuine Repentance: When pride is revealed, don’t just acknowledge it, but genuinely repent from it. Approach God with a contrite heart, recognizing the gravity of pride as a sin. Allow yourself to be broken over your sin and ask for forgiveness.

4. Prayer for Transformation: Continuously pray for God’s transforming grace. Ask Him to help you strip off pride and clothe yourself with humility. Pray for His Spirit to work in you, producing the fruit of humility through His power in every area of your life.

5. Scripture Immersion: Immerse yourself in the scriptures, especially passages that emphasize God’s sovereignty, majesty and holiness. Besides the Psalms and Prophets, explore the life and teachings of Jesus, the Epistles and Old Testament narratives. Let these verses recalibrate your view of God’s greatness and your frailty.

Quote: Humble yourself before God humbles you.

Prophetic Decree: Today, the good Lord shall roast to ashes every altar of pride in your heart, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you God for sending Jesus to exemplify humility though he was God in human flesh.

2. Search me O Lord, and reveal to me areas of pride, in Jesus name.

3. My Father circumcise my heart from pride today, in Jesus name.

4. Holy Spirit, please strip me of pride and clothe me with humility, in Jesus name.

5. Garment of pride of my father’s house upon me, burn to ashes, in Jesus name.
