Bible Reading: Ephesians 6: 10-18
Memory Verse: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of dark- ness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)
I celebrate the grace of God upon Dr. D.K. Olukoya, the Apostle of Deliverance. He said, “The strongman is the principal or controlling demon over a family, place, person, or thing. A strongman is the controller of a group of spirits or the chief over a group of spirits. A strongman is what the Bible calls “rulers of darkness of this world” (Ephesians 6:12). He acts as the prison warden of the devil, confiscating the blessings of people. He is the wicked ruler over every nation, town and family.”
Real life scenario 1
In a dream at night, a brother who have been engaging in spiritual warfare saw five men. He shook hands with the five of them. But then, he turned around to see this last one who was as tall as a giant, and who began to question him. He kept saying No to all his questions. Finally, the giant asked, “Can I come to your space?” and again he said, “No.” Our brother reported that starting from that day, he experienced some shaking in his place of work, but all proved abortive. The giant represented the strongman of his father’s house while the other five were the associate demons he had conquered.
Real life scenario 2
Someone started some deep prayers together with his father in the Lord. That’s wisdom! There are prayers and there are prayers. Foundational and deliverance prayers are best prayed in conjunction with another person of higher grace; preferably one who has a spiritual oversight over you. After three days of dry fasting and prayers, they were about to break their fast. Then, the man of God had a revelation. In the revelation, he saw that he chased several demons away, but there happen to be an evil king (strongman/evil ruler) still well seated on the throne.
Then an angel asked him, “Do you want to break your fast?” This is the reason why you must not stop praying even when you start to see result. There are cryptic battles. There are wicked powers who will not bulge even after several spiritual blows. You will need greater staying powers to weary them. Even at that, they may still just be standing by. Didn’t you hear that Satan left Jesus only for a season (Luke 4:13)? He’s sure waiting for an ample time to stage a comeback, to stage a satanic reinforcement, to have a repeat of a fight.
Friends, you will need to be strong and be courageous like Joshua and Caleb who stood their ground against the giants of Canaan. You will need to be equally resolute in desperate prayer to confront and paralyse the strongman in your life.

Prophetic Decree: I break the backbone of the strongman in your family, town, environment, office, and organisation, in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus
1. I withdraw the control of my life from the hands and domination of household
wickedness, in the name of Jesus.
2. I withdraw my future from the influence and control of household wickedness, in the
name of Jesus.
3. I release myself from any unconscious satanic bondage, in the name of Jesus.
4. Let every demonic power controlling my town be paralysed, in the name of Jesus.
5. Let the joy of the enemy over my life turn to sorrow, in the name of Jesus.
