DWOJ Daily Words of Jesus Devotional Post November

Monday, 21st November, 2016.

Bible reading:  1 Samuel 17:32-37.

Memory Verse:Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.” 1 Samuel 17:32(NKJV)

David knew his God personally and must have had series of experiences with the God of Israel in his closet. He kept referring to the encounter he had by the power of God in the wilderness – He delivered his father’s lamb out of the claws of the preying lion & bear.

David could boldly say unto Goliath: “Today the LORD will conquer you, and I will kill you and cut off your head. And then I will give the dead bodies of your men to the birds and wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel!” 1 Samuel 17:46 (NLT)

It’s not about your height or age. Goliath was a giant. He was 6 feet 9 inches tall (about 2.06 metres). A young boy with an encounter with God brought him down with a power laden stone and catapult (1 Samuel 17:49-51).

Please note that I’m not talking about going to your local Church or fellowship every Sunday, or working as an Usher or student Pastor. I’m talking of ” knowing your God” with deep conviction in your spirit man.

Action Point: They that know their God shall be strong and do exploits.

Prayer Point

  1. My Father, reveal yourself to me, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Spiritual scales in my eyes, hindering me from knowing Jesus, fall off by fire, in the name of Jesus.
