Bible reading: Deuteronomy 2:24-27.

Memory Verse: “‘Rise, take your journey, and cross over the River Arnon. Look, I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land. Begin to possess it and engage him in battle. Deuteronomy 2:27 (NKJV).

There’s a need to thank God for this outgoing year. He indeed is the Shepherd of our soul; our God who neither sleep nor slumber.

Houses usually have a gate leading to so many other doors. This is a typical illustration of what a Year is in the realm of the spirit. Each New Year is like a gate leading to so many doors which are to be opened in the process of time. Just like in the physical, you should possess all the keys to the house at the point of entry.

Ironically, many have entered into a New Year without having keys to open the door of their blessings, joy, favour, and academic promotion. They entered into a New Year ill-prepared with no spiritual preparation whatsoever. Soon, such people become a victim of bad luck, stagnancy, frustration, failure at the edge of breakthrough, & memory failure. They are visionless and clueless about the plan and purpose of God for their lives in the coming year. This is very unfortunate.

There are evil powers at the gate of each approaching year that must be contended with on the altar of prayer. Some of these powers are stubborn and won’t easily let go of one’s Divine blessings. You must fight such powers in holy annoyance.

Key Point:  Fight any evil power at the gate of Year 2017 in holy annoyance.

Prayer points

  1. Angels of warfare go before me in Year 2017 and make my way straight.
  2. Evil powers at the gate of Year 2017 holding down my angel of blessings, scatter by fire, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Circle of repeated problem, infirmity, and poverty, I terminate you by fire in Year 2017, in the name of Jesus.
  4. Strongman at the gate of Year 2017, fall down and die, in the name of Jesus.
  5. Holy Spirit, make thy way plain before me in Year 2017, in the name of Jesus.
