Bible Reading: Philippians 3: 13-14

Memory VerseHe who walks [as a companion] with wise men will be wise, But the companions of [conceited, dull-witted] fools [are fools themselves and] will experience harm. Proverbs 13:20 (AMP)

Are you aware that there is a difference between your job and your work (purpose)? You may be doing the job of an accountant, student, or artisan but God has a work for you as evangelist (Jeremiah 1:5). Shall we consider some of the profits of understanding one’s purpose:

1. Understanding purpose delivers people from the feeling of hopelessness, worthlessness and uselessness in life (Ps. 42:5; Job 14:14): When you understand the purpose you were created to fulfil, you no longer live like an accident of creation.

2. Understanding purpose delivers people from the tragedy of the wasted life (Prov. 29:18): A clear understanding of your purpose delivers you from living at random or leaving life to chance.

3. Understanding purpose helps to direct life’s energy, time and resources to what really matters in life (Phil. 3:13-14): Understanding purpose brings focus and concentration to life. A distracted life is a purposeless life.

4. Understanding purpose delivers people from wrong companionships and relationships (Prov. 13:20; Dan. 2: 17-18): Your purpose influences your partnerships. Your assignment determines your alignment.

5. Understanding purpose delivers people from the plague of imitation and competition (2 Cor. 10:12; Joel 2:7): Imitation is limitation and competition is complication of life and destiny. There is a potential-productivity ratio that is a determinant of your purpose fulfilment. When you know your purpose, you are free from envy and competitive jealousy. When you know your purpose, you run in your lane. Every calling from God is a high calling; no calling is higher than the other.

6. Understanding purpose fuels pursuit and persistence in life (Hab. 2:1-3; Heb. 12:1-2). Once you know what you are on earth to do, there is no plan B; you are empowered to be persistent in your pursuit. You can change the plans but the purpose remains. Purpose is a constant, plan is variable.

Dear brethren, Year 2025 has just begun. Determine to understand God’s purpose for your life to avoid the tragedy of a wasted life (Jer. 33:3). Knowing that your most important purpose in life is spiritual and eternal, you must determine to live in a way that will make the most spiritual impact in time and eternity (Eccl. 12:7).

QuoteThe day you understand purpose, destiny is born.

THE QUIET DESTROYERS (2)

One of the greatest dangers in the life of a believer is not the sins everyone can see, but the ones that hide quietly in the heart. These sins rarely attract attention, yet they slowly drain spiritual strength and weaken a man’s destiny. Hebrews 12:1 says, “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles”...
