Bible Reading: Mark 1:35

Memory VerseVery early the next morning before daylight, Jesus got up and went to a place where he could be alone and pray. Mark 1:35 (CEV)

We established yesterday that before the fall of Man, Adam and Eve met God during the cool of the day (Genesis 3:8). Jesus, our Master also exemplified this dimension. Mark 1:35 (NIV) says, “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” Note that both the first Adam, and Jesus, the second Adam had an appointment with God in a serene atmosphere – “cool of the day”, and “a great while before dawn” respectively. This can’t be a mere coincidence.

When patterns repeat itself perhaps a doctrine is at hand. Please hear me beloved, there are certain blueprint of your life that will not be revealed to anyone else except you (Proverbs 25:2). Not even your prophet or your born again parents will be able to decode such mysteries. There is an aspect of God that is locked in secrecy to be unveiled only through PERSONAL intimacy with Him. Wait a minute, if Jesus the only son of God had to meet daily with God before He could fulfill His mission on earth, what makes you feel your mission on earth will be fulfilled without daily meeting with God? This brings me to the subject of Quiet time.

What is Quiet time? Quiet time is a time set aside for personal daily fellowship with God in a noise-free environment usually in the early hours of the day. It is a time you: i. Praise God.  ii. Worship God. iii. Read the Word of God. iv. Meditate on the Word of God for revelation. v. Pray, and vi. Wait upon God for instructions. Generally speaking, the quality of your Christian life is as good as your daily quiet time. Your Quiet time shouldn’t be done in a rush. Quiet time is not the same as family altar though they are  complementary and both useful for your spiritual growth. You can’t be eating a dog meal and expect a lion strength.

Similarly, you can’t pay an unserious attitude to your Quiet time, and expect to be mighty in God. The secret of any truly great believer is in his personal relationship with God. Your Pastor, discipler, mentor, unit leader, and godly parents can show you the way of God, but, like the woman with an issue of blood, you must touch God for yourself. Your Quiet time provides for such avenue. Receive an unquenchable thirst for more of God every day of your life, in Jesus name.

Quote:  No Quiet time, No Breakfast.

Prophetic Decree:  Receive fresh fire of intimacy and fellowship, in Jesus name

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you Father for the opportunity to draw closer to you in intimacy.

2. Sing the song: “Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord” to the Cross where thou has died.

3. Holy Spirit,  you are the Lord of encounter, please encounter me daily in my Quiet time, in Jesus name.

4. Yoke of spiritual fatigue, spiritual laziness and spiritual complacency,  break, in Jesus name.

5. Every spiritual magnet tying me down to my bed at the early hours of the day, break by fire, in Jesus name.
