Bible Reading: Psalm 34:11

Memory VerseBehold, I and the children whom the LORD has given me are for signs and wonders in Israel from the LORD of armies, who dwells on Mount ZionIsaiah 8:18 (NASB)

Some children are smart academically, but morally depraved. Others have good moral and godly background but aren’t academically or emotionally intelligent. There’s a need for a balance! 21st century parenting must be intentional and well-rounded. Ways to achieving this include:

5. Set Boundaries Around Technology and Media“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”  Proverbs 4:23

a. Teach responsible and godly use of the internet, social media, and gadgets.

b. Use parental controls where necessary.

c. Educate them on the dangers of pornography, cyberbullying, and peer pressure.

d. Promote wholesome, edifying content.

6. Instil Discipline with Love and Consistency“The rod and reproof give wisdom.” Proverbs 29:15.

a. Use discipline as a tool for correction, not destruction.

b. Set clear expectations and consequences.

c. Be consistent, fair, and loving in enforcement.

d. Model self-discipline in your own life.

7. Foster a Growth Mindset and Academic Excellence“Do you see a man skilful in his work? He will stand before kings.” Proverbs 22:29

a. Encourage curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving.

b. Celebrate effort as much as achievement.

c. Provide access to quality education, extra-curricular, and learning resources.

d. Teach diligence, hard work, and godly ambition.

8. Build Strong Communication Channels:

a. Practice open and honest conversations.

b. Allow them to express fears, doubts, and challenges.

c. Avoid shame and condemnation during correction.

d. Schedule regular one-on-one time with each child.

9. Surround Them with the Right Community: “He who walks with wise men will be wise.” Proverbs 13:20

a. Be intentional about their friends and mentors.

b. Connect with other godly families.

c. Involve them in healthy peer groups and church activities.

d. Monitor influences and associations.

10. Pray for Them Continually: “The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” James 5:16

a. Pray over their destinies, decisions, and future.

b. Declare God’s promises over their lives daily.

c. Pray for divine protection, favor, and spiritual growth.

Quote:  Teach + Model + Coach + Correct + Pray = Smart Godly Kids.

Prophetic Decree: May your children be overwhelmed with the love of God and immersed by the fear of God, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. The glory of my children shall shine and shall not be covered, in Jesus name.

2. I receive grace to be a good parental model for my children, in Jesus name.

3. I receive grace to be cautious about my parental style and values, in Jesus name.

4. Lord Jesus, please give me a job/career that will make parenting easy for me, in Jesus name.

5. The influence of bad friends, media, and immediate environment shall not corrupt the seed of righteousness in my children, in Jesus name.
