Bible Reading: Numbers 13: 25-33
Memory Verse: Whose report shall ye believe? We shall believe the report of the Lord. Isaiah 53:1
Gospel minister, Judikay and her husband shared a powerful testimony about their daughter before she was born. At 34 weeks of pregnancy, a scan revealed several alarming reports. The medical staff said the baby was not breathing. They suggested there was no nose visible and recommended testing for Down syndrome. One negative report followed another.
For many people, fear would have taken over immediately. But Judikay responded with faith. She remembered the name they had already given their daughter, Umechukwu -“The Breath of God.” She asked, “How can the Breath of God not breathe?”
When she called her husband, he gave a simple but faith-filled instruction: “You will not go for any test. Tear that report.” Then together they began to do something unusual. Instead of spending every day worrying, they spent hours every day thanking God. They declared, “We receive an excellent child. We receive a perfect child.”
Months later, when the baby was born, they discovered that the umbilical cord had wrapped around her neck twice. The situation had been far more serious than they knew. Yet God preserved the child, and she was born healthy.
One statement from this testimony stands out: “What the devil wants is our consent.”
The enemy often begins his attacks with a report, a symptom, a fear, a negative prediction, or a discouraging circumstance. He wants us to agree with what he is saying more than with what God has spoken. He wants our fear, our surrender, and our acceptance.
This was exactly what happened to the twelve spies in Numbers 13. Ten spies agreed with what they saw and spread fear throughout the camp. Joshua and Caleb agreed with God instead. The difference was not the size of the giants; it was whose report they believed.
This does not mean we ignore reality. It means we place God’s Word above every other voice. We acknowledge the facts, but we stand on God’s promises.
Notice also that Judikay and her husband did not merely reject the negative report; they filled their hearts with thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a powerful weapon of faith. It reminds us that God is bigger than every diagnosis, every delay, every challenge, and every attack of the enemy.
Perhaps you are facing a negative report today—a financial report, a health report, a family report, or a report about your future. Do not allow fear to become your agreement. Search the Scriptures. Find God’s promises. Thank Him in advance for His faithfulness. Let your heart agree with heaven. The enemy may present a report, but you do not have to sign it. Stand on God’s Word. Your victory is certain
