Bible reading: 2 Samuel 18: 1-33

Memory verse: It is dangerous to have zeal without knowledge, and the one who acts hastily makes poor choices. Proverbs 19:2 (NET)

In our Text today, Ahimaaz, son of Zadok had no accurate and detailed account on the circumstances that led to the death of Absalom, who had pitched his tent against David, his father. Joab, one of David’s captains had dissuaded him from going to report to King David. Ahimaaz pressed on Joab until he was permissively allowed to go give the report. He outran Cushi who had the correct information.

Ahimaaz, is a true definition of a many young ones who has zeal but no knowledge. This could be so disastrous and humiliating. Eventually he was sidelined while awaiting a more prepared Cushi (vs. 30).

Many are not willing to be baked before they leave the oven in the bakery of God. Many are in a haste to jump out of the quarry of the Almighty. Many are functioning in half truth. The problem with many young ones is that they are too much in a hurry. They are in a hurry to manifest their talent, in a hurry to leave school, in a hurry to make money, in a hurry to become a millionaire overnight. They are in a hurry to build what it took another man 45 years of his life to build. This is the spirit of Ahimaaz at work.

Quote: Reject zeal without knowledge.

Prophetic Word: Receive grace to watch, hear and run with your Divine assignment, in Jesus name.
