Bible Reading: Daniel 9:11-19, 1 Tim. 2:1-2

Memory Verse: And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. Ezekiel 22:30 (KJV)

Charles Spurgeon (June 19, 1834 – Jan. 31, 1892) was an English Baptist preacher. He was referred to as the “Prince of Preachers”. When asked by some reporters the secret of his successful ministry, he requested of them to come for his first service where he took them to the basement of his Church. Therein, there were very many widows wailing and crying in intercession to God. The secret of men is in the closet. Nothing happens on earth without the consent of heaven. There will be many surprises in heaven. Those regarded as honourable by men may be inconsequential to heaven. Ministry is not rooted in the public life of a minister. Ministry is rooted on the altar of secret prayers and wailing. Never neglect the power of intercession.

There are many who tarry on the altar of prayers to carry spiritual blessings for the benefit of mankind. You must prevail before God to avail before men. There are men whose cry on the altar of prayers leads to the public declarations of souls for Christ. This is the secret of our Patriarchs of faith. Months before the great preacher Billy Graham started any crusade, the people of that nation cry in deep prayers unto God. This is the secret of revival. The battle of their souls had already been fought and won in the heavenlies before they came. You just wonder what is making men come out in droves in total repentance and surrender at the beckon of this simple non-flamboyant preacher. The power of intercession is at work. Intercede for the unsaved souls in your family, school/ campus, neighbourhood and nation. Conquer nations on your knees. Behold the power of the bended knees!

Quote: Prayerful men are powerful men.

Prophetic Decree: Receive the spirit of intercession in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus:

  1. I receive the mantle of the Old time religion, in Jesus name.
  2. Fresh fire of evangelism, fall upon my soul, in Jesus name.
  3. I receive a fresh appetite for intercession, in Jesus name.
  4. I frustrate every power contending with the power in my bended knees, in Jesus name.
  5. I cast out every spirit of spiritual slumber, in Jesus name.
