Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Romans 12:1-2

Memory Verse:  Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23 (NKJV)

Galatians 6:8 (NLT) says, “Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.” Music is food to the soul. Remember the Bible book that says a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump (Galatians 5:9).

Similarly, a little worldly music here and there stains your soul and inflict scars on your spirituality health. Brethren, there is no neutral music. You either sing to the glory of God or sing to excite  the flesh. Don’t forget, he that sows into the flesh will reap corruption.

Minister Joshua Mike-Bamiloye further said, “Whatever content a music carries, be it immorality, lust, love of money, envy or pride goes straight into you and sticks its root into the soil of your heart.  What’s the implication of this? Proverbs 4:23 says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

When the heart is corrupted, it WILL (not “it may”) influence your actions. This is what drives a person into a sinful lifestyle. As a Christian, it is wrong and dangerous to listen to worldly music. It is even worse for a Christian who has many young Christian followers to encourage this. You have no idea the level of damage you’re causing to them.

Some might ask “what about listening to a Christian song produced by a worldly person?” As a Christian with followers, I won’t condemn the song nor will I endorse it. If I encourage my followers to listen to it, I’m also drawing their attention to the artist and his works.

In conclusion, always remember that your body is the temple of God and this includes your heart. Guard its gateway against polluting content.  God bless.

Quote:  “A little leaven [a slight inclination to error, or a few false teachers] leavens the whole batch [it perverts the concept of faith and misleads the church].” – Galatians 5:9 (AMP)

THE QUIET DESTROYERS (2)

One of the greatest dangers in the life of a believer is not the sins everyone can see, but the ones that hide quietly in the heart. These sins rarely attract attention, yet they slowly drain spiritual strength and weaken a man’s destiny. Hebrews 12:1 says, “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles”...
