Bible Reading: 2 Timothy 1:7

Memory VerseI can do all things through Christ who strengthens mePhilippians 4:13 (NKJV)

Many times, we are our own enemies. While God has promised us a great destiny, there are habits/weaknesses in our lives that could hinder destiny manifestation. Satan, using the instrumentality of the flesh capitalises on such opening, thereby using us against ourselves.

We are to shut the door of our lives against:

1. EXCUSES:  By excuses we mean giving a reason or explanation to justify a fault, weakness, or offence. Common excuses include: “I’m not the right person”, “What if?”, “I’m not good enough”.

Excuses can hinder a Christian’s progress by preventing them from taking responsibility for their actions and growth. This can lead to stagnation and a lack of spiritual development.

The way out involves recognizing these excuses, acknowledging personal responsibility, and actively working towards change through self-reflection, seeking guidance from scripture and Christian community, and relying on faith through the Word of God and prayer.

2. SELF DOUBT: Self doubt means lack of faith in oneself; it is a feeling of doubt or uncertainty about one’s abilities, actions, or capabilities.

Self-doubt can significantly hinder a Christian’s progress in several ways. For example, it prevents taking on challenges, hinders spiritual disciplines, impacts relationships, and obstructs receiving God’s love and grace.

The way out of self-doubt for a Christian involves: Renewing their mind with God’s truth, focusing on God’s strength, not your own, seeking support and encouragement, practicing self-compassion, stepping out in faith, and remembering God’s promises.

3. FEAR OF FAILURE: Also known as atychiphobia, is an intense and irrational fear of not meeting one’s own or others’ standards or goals. Symptoms: People with a fear of failure may be anxious, have low self-esteem, and avoid activities or situations that could lead to failure. They may also procrastinate or sabotage their chances of success. Causes: Fear of failure can be caused by past experiences, such as receiving critical feedback on a presentation, failing a professional examination/certification, or past miscarriage, etc. It can also be associated with perfectionism. Fear of failure prevents taking risks and stepping out in faith; leading to stagnation and missed opportunities. It hinders the development of gifts and talents; leading to untapped potentials and lack of confidence. And, it negatively impact on our relationship with God; leading to distorted view about God, and lack of trust.

The Way Out include understanding God’s Grace, focusing on God’s Purpose, learning from Mistakes (Romans 8:28), seeking Support and Accountability, trusting in God’s Strength, renewing the Mind with Scripture:

Quote: The simple antidote to fear is faith (Rom. 10:17).

Prophetic Decree: Every raw material of doubt, fear and excuses shall roast away by fire, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Holy Spirit, you have my permission to work on my mindset today, in Jesus name.

2. Every spirit of self-doubt in my abilities and potentials, be cast out, in Jesus name.

3. Lord, please help me to be inexcusable; taking responsibility for my destiny, in Jesus name.

4. Whatever is responsible for the fear of failure in my life, collide with the Rock of ages in my life, in Jesus name.

5. The burden for the fulfilment of my purpose shall swallow all limiting forces in my mortal body in Jesus name.
