In 2014, Timothy Ray Jones Jr., a South Carolina father, committed an act so devastating. It’s difficult to comprehend – he took the lives of his five children: Merah, Elias, Nahtahn, Gabriel, and Abigail Elaine. After picking them up from school on an ordinary August day, something unimaginable happened. Jones later claimed to hear demonic voices warning him that his own children would kill him. The details are heartbreaking.

Nahtahn was likely strangled to death first. Then Jones strangled Elias, his seven-year-old son, with his hands while the boy begged to be taken with him. He also strangled Merah, his eight-year-old daughter, after she expressed her love for him. For the younger children, Gabriel (two years old) and Abigail (one-year-old), Jones used a belt because his hands were too large to wrap around their necks.

The aftermath revealed a disturbing series of events – Jones drove around with their bodies before attempting to dispose them off in rural Alabama. Despite his defence team’s arguments about his history of mental illness, the court rejected his insanity plea. Jones was sentenced to death for the murders of the five innocent lives that were entrusted to his care.

Friends, many of the cases of mental health are rooted in satanic manipulation. Many have been manipulated to marrying the wrong spouse. Like Elimelech, many have been manipulated to leave Bethlehem-Judah for Moab (Ruth 1:1-5). Unlike Isaac, many have been manipulated to leave Gerar of the Philistines for Egypt in search of greener pastures only to meet with untimely abortion of destinies and destiny (Gen. 26:1-2).

Many have been manipulated to go into the wrong career. Many have been manipulated to go into the wrong relationships. Many have been manipulated to bursting out in anger in front of their would-be destiny helpers. Many have been manipulated to buy the wrong house/mortgage. Many have been manipulated to work in an occult company. Many have been manipulated to cling to the wrong friends. War against satanic manipulation today.

Prayer Focus

1. Powers manipulating me unto self-destruction practices, be wasted, in Jesus name.

2. I break the hold of any power magnetising the wrong friends and evil association unto me, in Jesus name. 

3. I cut myself off from the evil manipulation of my family roots. I refuse to marry my enemy, in Jesus name.

5. Like Isaac, may I encounter the voice of directional and wisdom daily that I may not be deceived by what I see, hear, or by my imminent pressing needs, in Jesus name.
