Scripture Reading:  Acts 6: 1-8

Memory verse for the week:    John 14:26

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (KJV)

Permit me to give you a brain teaser this morning. Who is Prochorus in the Bible? Question number two: Who is Timon in the Bible? Oh oh… (guess you don’t know much about him). Finally, who is  Nichanor from the scriptures? But I’m sure you would have come across Stephen and Philip sometimes in your Bible study.

Dearly beloved, May I inform you that the first three people mentioned – Prochorus, Timon, & Nichanor, all belong to the same generation as Stephen and Philip. In fact, they were in the same temple at Jerusalem ministering together as deacons in the early Church. Acts 6:1-6.

What made the difference? Stephen and Philip stood out among their fellow deacons. They had something extra which they brought into the service of the Lord other than merely serving tables! Consider Stephen in Acts 6:8, “And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.”

Dear Teenager, don’t limit yourself. You are too loaded for your generation ( Acts 13:36). Discover that extra thing in you that can make you contribute to the development of your group in Church, in society, in the school, at home and in your family; all to the glory of God.

Go the extra mile!

ACTION WORD:       COME OUT, STEP OUT, AND SHINE FORTH.

PRAYER POINT:

 1) I receive divine enablement to shine as a great light everywhere I go, in the name of Jesus.

2) (Shout it loud) The spirit called Average, working in my life and destiny, die by fire, in the name of Jesus.
