Bible reading: Exodus 31:1-6.
Memory Verse: Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. James 1:17(NKJV)
Some people “waste their talent”. They have talent but do not work hard at it, they do not “use their talent” like the Biblical parable of talent in our Bible reading. The man given just one talent was rather too lazy or got jealous like some people do.
God has given you the talent of being a good back-up singer, why quit the choir or become lackadaisical simply because you’re jealous of the other sister who is talented & more often featured as the lead vocalist. Stay in the place of your talent, perfect it and right before your eyes, you become a force to be reckoned with.
From our text, Bezalel was talented in all manner of craftsmanship. He must have also taken time to develop it through hardwork. Nevertheless, God had to pour in him His Spirit (vs 6) before he could be a worthy vessel to work all manner of wood work needed in the temple.
You see, talent alone is not enough for acceptable kingdom service. To your talent, you need training. And to your training, you need the Spirit of God.
Key Point: Talent + Hardwork + Spirit of God = Great Destiny.
Prayer points:
1) Every hidden talent in me, come out by fire, in the name of Jesus.
2) O Lord, baptize me with your Spirit that I may serve you worthily with my talent.
3) Talent hijackers, die, in the name of Jesus.
