Bible Reading: Isaiah 40: 28-31, Galatians 5: 22-23
Memory Verse: We do not want you to become lazy, but to be like those who believe and are patient, and so receive what God has promised. Hebrews 6:12 (GNT)
This rush generation! This “ice cream” Christianity!! This Now-Now type of life!!! Many who are in God’s waiting list are getting tired and frustrated. Some have decided to result to witchcraft. Witchcraft thrives on manipulation, control, intimidation, fear, demonic domineering, rebellion, stubbornness and such like things. Can you wait until what God has promised comes to pass IN GOD’S OWN TIME no matter how long it takes? Can you learn to give up your will for His will? Like Job, can you say all my life I will wait till my change comes? Behold the blessedness of staying in God’s waiting room until He has dealt with impatience amongst other works of the flesh in our heart.
This is a proof of spiritual maturity, and a sign up for authority in God. The blessedness of patience! Many of the things God has promised us will require enough time and extreme patience especially if it will affect a generation. God is never in a hurry to show forth His children, than He is to make them an express image of His dear Son, Jesus Christ. Beloved, that vision is for an appointed time. Be patient. Walk with Jehovah. Learn to understand God’s administrative system. God is very procedural and painstaking with process. God tries our heart in our days of waiting. The heart of man is deceitful and terribly wicked, who can know it? (Jeremiah 17:9).
In the agenda of God, the means is perhaps more important than the end. He wants to see His nature in you before He put in your hands your earnest prayers and expectations. It is preparation before platform. The depth of your preparation will ultimately determine the height of your elevation and glory. Moreover, your attitude in your waiting period is a proof of your faith in God. Joyce Meyer, in her book Battlefield of the Mind said, “Patience is not the ability to wait but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting.” What has God promised you that seems delayed? An admission, scholarship, fruit of the womb, a house, job, car, ministry, etc. Wait patiently on Him. Don’t run faster than God. Faith alone does not inherit promises. Faith and patience does (Hebrews 6:12).
Quote: Patience is constant consistent expectancy – Pastor George Izunwa.
