Bible Reading: Colossians 3: 9-10, Ephesians 4:25, Revelation 21:8

Memory Verse: Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds. Colossians 3:9 (NKJV)
It was C.S. Lewis who opined, “A little lie is like a little pregnancy. It doesn’t take long before everyone knows”.

Recently, something happened in the city of Lagos, Nigeria. The story of a lady with one of her legs amputated using clutches went viral when she was spotted selling pure water in traffic. Sympathizers all over the web came together to raise money to help her out. The lady claimed that her legs were amputated after she was involved in an accident which killed everyone on board, including her parents.

She claimed that she was left with a child and her grandmother to take care of, forcing her to become a hawker. However upon further investigation, the story turned out that her father was alive and her leg was amputated from birth. The lies she told to garner sympathy has led to the Lagos State government to withhold the money donated as at the time of writing this devotional. Do you know? Even if she had told the truth about her life story, she would most likely equally have garnered people’s sympathy. Her angel of breakthrough was standing by, but the prince of this world saw the infrastructure of lies in her, an inherent uncrucified life which she refused to nail to the Cross of Calvary and consequently, used it against her destiny.

Behold the woeful consequences of lies. Those who use forged certificate, impersonate, double deal, inflate contracts, reduce their age, etc, are all moving on similar lane. A lie is like a rolling stone that gathers no moss eventually. A lie could roam about for many years but will always come back empty handed after many years, this time, with shame in her company. Only the truth will stand the test of time. Only the truth will prevail. Say the truth always even if it will cost you in the present, it will position you for a great fortune in the future. Be a person of unquestionable integrity.

THE QUIET DESTROYERS (2)

One of the greatest dangers in the life of a believer is not the sins everyone can see, but the ones that hide quietly in the heart. These sins rarely attract attention, yet they slowly drain spiritual strength and weaken a man’s destiny. Hebrews 12:1 says, “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles”...

THE QUIET DESTROYERS (1)

The Quiet Destroyers are otherwise known as Secret Sins That Ruin Destiny. Many destinies have not been destroyed by loud sins, but by quiet ones. The sins nobody sees. The ones people excuse. The ones hidden behind reputation, ministry, intelligence, or success. Yet heaven sees them clearly. The Bible says, “Be sure your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23). Secret sins do not remain secret forever. They slowly weaken the soul until a man who once carried promise begins to lose weight in the spirit...

THE DANGER OF SECRET SIN

Bro. Gbile Akanni once shared a sobering story that has stayed in my heart for many years. He spoke about an elderly evangelist whom God used mightily in the past. In those days there was no television, only radio. When this man of God preached, people would gather around their radios. Sometimes he would say, “Place your hand on the radio.”...
