Bible Reading: Luke 12: 2-4

Memory Verse:  God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or badEcclesiastes 12:14 (NLT)

Bro. Gbile Akanni once shared a sobering story that has stayed in my heart for many years. He spoke about an elderly evangelist whom God used mightily in the past. In those days there was no television, only radio. When this man of God preached, people would gather around their radios. Sometimes he would say, “Place your hand on the radio.”

As people obeyed, remarkable healings occurred. Testimonies flowed in from everywhere. Even unbelievers would stop and listen because the power of God was touching the land. But suddenly his voice disappeared from the radio. The program stopped. Nobody seemed to know why. Then one day, he received an invitation from him. He thought he was going to preach in a large meeting, but when he arrived, he was directed to a small house. Just a few people were gathered there.

He was confused. When he greeted the old man of God, he said quietly, “Brother Gbile, I invited you because I missed it. I want to tell you what happened so it will not happen to you.” Then he began to speak with tears. “God used me mightily. The anointing was real. Miracles happened everywhere we went. But look at me now… everything has finished.” What happened? He said, “Fear women. The lust of women entered my life. It started small, like a joke. Today I am finished.”

In the words of Bro Gbile: As he spoke, my heart broke. I did not pray for him; I cried for myself. That day God taught me something unforgettable – sin may look small, but it can destroy a great destiny. The Bible says, “Sin is a reproach to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34)

Beloved, guard your heart. What destroys a man rarely begins big. It begins quietly, secretly, and slowly. No matter how gifted, famous, or anointed someone may be, secret sin can quietly destroy everything.

Run from sin. Protect your walk with God. A great calling must never be destroyed by a small compromise.

Ponder: If God could turn His back on Jesus when He carried the sin of the whole world on the Cross. If the anointing of God could dry up upon a man who was once a firebrand because of secret sin, how much more you? Secret sin destroys destiny. Flee now!

THE QUIET DESTROYERS (1)

The Quiet Destroyers are otherwise known as Secret Sins That Ruin Destiny. Many destinies have not been destroyed by loud sins, but by quiet ones. The sins nobody sees. The ones people excuse. The ones hidden behind reputation, ministry, intelligence, or success. Yet heaven sees them clearly. The Bible says, “Be sure your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23). Secret sins do not remain secret forever. They slowly weaken the soul until a man who once carried promise begins to lose weight in the spirit...
