DWOJ Daily Words of Jesus Devotional Post February

Thursday, 2nd February, 2017.

Bible reading: Isa. 40:30-31.

Memory verse: “But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faintIsaiah 40:31(NKJV).

For centuries, Eagles have fascinated and inspired us with brilliant leadership characteristics. We venerate them as living symbols of power, freedom, and transcendence. They are symbols of beauty, bravery, courage, honour, pride, determination and grace. What makes this bird so important and symbolic to humanity are her characteristics.

1. Eagles Have Powerful Vision

If you swap your eyes for an eagle’s, you could see an ant crawling on the ground from the roof of a 10-story building.

If you ever happen to see an eagle sitting high above the tree or cliff of a stiff mountain, watch closely and see how attentive the bird is. The body will be still and the head tilted side to side to observe what is happening below, around and above it. Even if it is flying close by, you can observe how keen its eyes are, looking for its prey. Eagles have a keen vision. Their eyes are specially designed for long distance focus and clarity. We need this attribute. God must help us to be focused & see with clarity what the enemy plans to do even before he starts. Such was the eagle vision in the life of Prophet Elisha in 2Kings 6:8-23. He knew the plan of the king of Syria beforehand. Nothing should catch us unawares.

A man with an eagle vision has a clear pursuit in life. They have a picture of their future clearly in their mind, which is in line with God’s purpose for their lives. Any vision outside God’s plan ends in frustration.

Quote: Many look but very few see far like the Eagle.

Prophetic Word: Receive the Eagle type of eye. The devil shall not catch you unawares, in Jesus name.

Prayer Points:

  1. Holy Spirit, sharpen my spiritual eyes to see clearer and farther, in the name of Jesus.
  2. I pluck out every physical and spiritual scales blocking my heavenly vision, in the name of Jesus.
