Bible Reading: Galatians 5: 17-25
Memory Verse: For the flesh desires what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit desires what is against the flesh; these are opposed to each other, so that you don’t do what you want. Galatians 5:17 (CSB)
Minister Dunsin Oyekan is one minister of the gospel that brings heaven’s tune down to earth. He once answered the question: How do you know something is about to burst forth in the spirit? Simple! When your flesh is at war with your spirit. He buttressed his answer with a testimony. He said on a particular day, he had spent over 4 hours in prayers.
Then, he perceived God telling him to spend 15 more minutes with Him. He said at that moment, his flesh revolted. He really needed a break. Thankfully, he yielded to the voice of the Holy Spirit. It was those 15 extra minutes that crowned the initial 4 hours of prayers. That was the 15 minutes that birthed the classic song, “Channels of my spirit, open up”. Indeed, the channels of his spirit opened up as he placed the demand of ‘holy pressure’ on it.
Imagine if he hadn’t yielded. Imagine if he had rushed out of God’s presence after those long hours of prayer investment like most people do. You see, prayer is a two-way conversation. You speak to God, but wait for God to speak back to you on the altar of meditation. Just be still in His presence for a feedback. Do not allow your flesh to hurry you out of God’s presence.
A brother was tongue-lashed by his Pastor. He was emotionally wounded, yet he endured the divine discipline. Please hear me beloved: There is no one that cannot come under the influence of the work of the flesh, no matter how spiritual. You must respect the office of a servant of God even when you don’t like his/her personality.
This is one wisdom that will deliver your destiny from destruction. Friends, do you know that some destiny changing financial opportunities later came through for this brother few months down the line from the ministry of this same man of God? What if he had changed church, or replied the man of God rashly? Indeed, the devil is not merely fighting you, but what God has tagged yours! Go forth to win the battle against your flesh today and always by the enablement of God’s Spirit, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus
1. Lord, I am sorry for those days I yielded to my flesh and not your Spirit.
2. I receive grace to yield at all times and in all seasons to the Spirit of God, in Jesus name.
3. I receive grace to die daily to my flesh, appetite, and lust, in Jesus name.
4. Grace for divine accuracy, overshadow me, in Jesus name.
5. I break the power of sin, self, and Satan in my life, in Jesus name.
