Bible Reading: Genesis 41: 34-36, Proverbs 11: 24

Memory VerseThe wise man saves for the future, but the foolish man spends whatever he gets. Proverbs 21:20 (TLB)

How much money has come into your hands this year? If you can’t account for it, you are probably on the path to penury. Shout: God forbid. But, there are certain things God will not come down to do for you. With prayers, you can enter the camp of the enemy to uproot demonic stumps working against your finances. By seed faith, prophet offering, etc, you can call forth your harvest. But by sound financial knowledge and planning, you will keep and multiply your wealth. This three unique processes must be harmonized if you must be truly wealthy.

Next question: How much have you saved since the beginning of this year? Did I hear you say nothing? The first money you deduct from your salary, or profit is your tithe. Remember “God first principle” (Matthew 6:33). The second thing YOU MUST DO is to deduct your savings no matter how little. Joseph saved one-fifth (20%) in the time of increase (Gen 47:24). Thirdly, you can then begin to allocate some money to cater for your needs. This is called financial planning.

Brethren, human wants will never be exhausted so says the Economist. Do the little you can do per time and trust God to take care of the rest. My salary is little, my profit is meager, etc, is never a good enough reason not to save. Be financially disciplined. Learn to save for the rainy day. Furthermore, learn to develop an investment plan perhaps through business partnership, buying of shares, real estate, etc.

The future is real. The future is what you make of it today. Don’t despise that little seed in your hands. Warren Buffett (7th wealthiest person in the world as at August 2020, and one of the most successful investors in the world with net worth of US$78.9 billion) has a rule: “Never lose money. Stay rational and stick to your homework when researching businesses in which to invest.” Look before you leap.

Caution: You should be ready to give God all of you (your money inclusive) should He demand for it. Remember He owns you and all that you’ve got.
