Bible Reading: Isaiah 62: 6-7, 1 Timothy 2: 1-3
Memory Verse: I searched for a man among them who would build up a wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, so that I would not destroy it; but I found no one. Ezekiel 22:30 (NASB)

Should you gather ten believers together at random asking them what they would like to do for Jesus, many will want to be another Kenneth E. Hagin, Daddy E.A. Adeboye, Apostle Ayo Babalola, etc. While this may not be a bad ambition, unfortunately, no one chooses destiny, you will have to discover yours. Many believers will not opt for the ministry of intercession such as that of Father Nash or his other associates Abel Clary in our yesterday’s devotional. They have soon forgotten that these are the invisible hands of Moses on the mountain holding forth for a fighting Joshua in the battle against the Amalekites (Exodus 17: 8-16). Brethren, in the words of Albert Einstein, “Everything that can be counted does not necessarily count; everything that counts cannot necessarily be counted.” In other words, it is not always what we see that matters. God is looking for men and women who will wail and stand in the gap as intercessors for their family, for their church, for their community, and of course for nation. It may surprise you that 75% of the power of God seen on various crusades ground is generated by one or two intercessors and not actually the preacher. Charles G. Finney’s ministry reveals just that. Four months after the death of Father Nash, his personnel intercessor, he left field work into pastoral ministry. If you are a minister of the Gospel, you will have to pray that Satan will not kill the backbone of your ministry before you complete your assignment. Who is an intercessor? An intercessor is that man or woman who mediates before God on behalf of men. It is not a ministry for the selfish, and not a ministry for lovers of men’s praise. It is a very obscure ministry and often uncelebrated nor rewarded on earth. Young man, it may surprise you that the little you’ve been able to achieve with your life is as a result of your praying mother. Woman, it may surprise you that your life is only accelerating because your husband is standing in the gap for you. The reverse is also true in the aforementioned cases. You had better honour those whom God has brought into your life. By ourselves, we are not as strong as we think. There are many ministries whose progress are anchored on the intercessions of her foundational members. Those aged women who are on 24 hours prayer chain. They have dedicated their lives to the ministry of intercession. May the Lord open your eyes to the importance of this sacred ministry, in Jesus mighty name.

Quote:  It seems to me that “God’s hands are tied” until there is a man to pray.
Prophetic Decree: May our generation never be void of men given to the ministry of intercession, in Jesus name.
