Bible Reading: Isaiah 60: 11-16
Memory Verse: After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him. Matthew 3:16 (NLT)
Until the heavens opened, even Jesus, the Son of the living God couldn’t start His public ministry. One of the secrets of perpetual open heavens is humility. Jesus had to humble himself under a man who said he was not worthy to loose His shoe latchet before He could secure an open heaven and consequently, the blessings of God for His life and ministry. Somebody must birth you into purpose. When the heaven is closed over an individual, family, ministry, home, compound, territory, establishment or even a nation, the people there will suffer from lack, divine ideas, creativity, innovation, poverty, tempest, diseases, stagnancy, marginal success, loss of interest in spiritual things, bad dreams, prayerlessness, demonic attack, lack of new testimony, frustration, or even unexplainable death, just to mention but a few.
Other reasons that could be responsible for a closed heaven include:
4. Sin: Those who toy with sin will eventually close their own personal heavens. I remember the brother working in a multinational company who fell into the sin of adultery. He was eventually sacked. Until he repented he wasn’t restored.
5. Witchcraft practices: There are triangular powers that can be conjured to close the rain of abundance over a life, establishment or nation through witchcraft.
6. Disobedience to the call of God: Be double sure of financial struggles amidst many other challenges should you decide to neglect, despise or trivialize the call of God over your life. Submit to God’s will today.
7. Robbing God of your tithes: Many are struggling to give God 10% when others are giving God 90%. Sow sparingly, reap sparingly. Sow abundantly, reap abundantly (Malachi 3: 8-10).
8. When you don’t seek first the kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33): If your motive is not based on the kingdom of God, you can never get His blessings. You can provoke God to action when your heart is in line with His will. God is either first of all or have no place at all.
Quote: When heavens open, blessings come down.
Prophetic Decree: Anything representing the Prince of Persia is cleared off in your personal heavens, in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus
1. Father, I cry for mercy from the depth of my heart; show me your mercy in the name of Jesus [2 Chronicles 7:13-14].
2. Every witchcraft agenda in the heavenlies over my life and family in the remaining days of this year, scatter by fire, in the name of Jesus.
3 I cast down every demon in charge of my open heavens in the name of Jesus [Daniel 10:13].
4. My Heavens, open by fire in the name of Jesus [1 Kings 8:35-36].
5. I receive grace to put God first in anything I do, in Jesus name.
